Spotify AI Playlists Feature Debuts For Personalised Playlist Creation Using AI: How Does It Work?

0

Spotify has announced a new AI based feature called AI Playlists that was reported to be in works back in October 2023. While still in beta, the AI playlists feature will allow users to create customised music playlists on the basis of the written prompts the user feeds to the AI. Here’s how the feature works and how you can access it.

Spotify AI Playlists: How Does It Work?

Spotify AI playlists extend beyond the regular method of creating a playlist where you add various tracks manually. Spotify’s AI capabilities extend beyond typical playlist requests tied to genres or eras, enabling users to seek out more varied mixes. For instance, one might request a playlist for “serenading a cat” or “soundtracking a zombie apocalypse,” as Spotify indicates.

Users can craft prompts around diverse themes, including locations, creatures, hobbies, cinematic figures, hues, or even emojis. Spotify points out that the most engaging playlists often emerge from prompts blending various genres, atmospheres, musicians, and periods.

Spotify employs advanced large language models (LLMs) to interpret user requests accurately. Leveraging its personalization algorithms, which analyze a user’s listening habits and preferences, Spotify crafts custom AI-curated playlists that align with the user’s unique prompt.

Spotify AI Playlists: How To Access?

  • From Your Library screen, tap the “+” button at the top-right corner of the and select “AI Playlist.”
  • Select one of the suggested prompts or type your own. Sptoify notes that you have to be specific. For example, you could try creating “sad music for painting dying flowers” or “tracks for horse riding into the sunset.”
  • Wait for the process completion as Spotify will now offer some tracks that match the vibe you’re going for.
  • From there, you can easily manage the selection of songs by previewing and deleting tracks. You can revise and refine the playlists you generate by telling AI Playlist what you’re looking for (i.e., “more pop” or “less upbeat”).
  • Tap “Create,” and your new playlist will be saved automatically in Your Library.

Aside from this, Spotify notes that the tool is still in beta and won’t produce results for non-music-related prompts, like current events or specific brands. It also has measures in place around prompts that are offensive.

Spotify AI Playlists: Availability

The AI Playlists feature is available to Premium subscribers in the UK and Australia as of now. “Over the coming months, we look forward to continuing to iterate on this new feature to best serve our listeners”, said the company.

BoAt Faces Data Breach, 7.5 Million Users Compromised

0

In a significant cybersecurity incident, India’s leading audio brand, boAt, has suffered a data breach that has left the personal information of over 7.5 million customers exposed and up for sale on the dark web. The leak also threatens the impacted users’ bank accounts and other private data.

The breach was first reported by Forbes India, which detailed that around 2GB of data containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and customer IDs was leaked. The data appeared on a dark web forum, reportedly put up by a hacker known as ShopifyGUY on April 5, 2024. The leak has 75,50,000 entries, suggesting many users’ data was impacted.

This data breach poses a severe risk to affected BoAt customers, potentially exposing them to identity theft, financial fraud, and phishing attacks. Cybercriminals could use the leaked information to gain unauthorised access to bank accounts, make fraudulent transactions, or conduct sophisticated social engineering attacks.

Sophisticated social engineering attacks could be framed by threat actors leveraging the personal details of individuals to get access to bank accounts, conduct transactions, and use credit cards fraudulently, explains Threat Intelligence Researcher Saumay Srivastava to the publication. “The consequences for companies include a loss of customer confidence, legal consequences, and reputational harm. The major implications make it even more essential to implement adequate security practices,” he adds

One of the security analysts suggests that the hackers gained access to the boAt customer database at least one month ago based on the release timeline. The profile of the leaker is relatively new, as they only have a single leak under their name as of now, and it is of BoAt.

The leaked data’s appearance on the dark web has serious implications for boAt’s reputation and customer trust. The company, known for its popular audio products and smart wearables, has yet to formally acknowledge the breach or outline steps to mitigate the impact on its customers.

Samsung Neo QLED 8K And More AI TVs To Launch In India On April 17, Pre-orders Also Open

Samsung has already stepped foot into the AI era with the launch of Galaxy S24 series earlier this year and its AI tech will now be coming to the brand’s TVs. Samsung will be launching the Neo QLED 8K and more set of TVs that will be loaded with artificial intelligence (AI) based features in India on April 17. The brand has also begun taking pre-orders for the upcoming TVs.

The upcoming launch of AI televisions comes on the back of Samsung’s big AI-related announcements earlier this year. Samsung launched Galaxy AI for its smartphones with Galaxy S24 series in January, and Bespoke AI for its home appliances earlier this week.

Samsung’s Neo QLED 8K series, Neo QLED series and the series will all be powered by AI this year. However, the specifics regarding what these AI features will be and how they’ll work on the TVs are yet to be revealed by Samsung.

Samsung AI TVs: Pre-orders Open In India

Samsung has also started taking early orders from consumers interested in buying its new range of AI TVs in India. Consumers can pre-order Samsung’s new AI TVs by paying Rs 5000 on Samsung.com and the Samsung shop App. Customers who pre-order Samsung’s new AI-powered TVs will be eligible for early access special offers on their purchase.

Consumers pre-ordering Neo QLED 8K Series (75 inches and above) can avail benefits worth Rs 15,000 on their purchase, while consumers pre-ordering Neo QLED 4K & OLED Series will get benefits worth Rs 10,000 on their purchase.

As for Samsung’s most recent launch in the world of AI, the brand claims that its Bespoke AI series home appliances can help users save a considerable amount on their power bill. Thanks to the AI Energy Mode, Samsung claims can deliver an average of 30 per cent energy efficiency across various appliances, lowering the electricity bill.

Nothing Phone (2a) Pro/Plus Is In Works: Report (Updated)

0

Update 18/07/2024: Nothing India has confirmed that the Phone (2a) Plus is indeed launching in the country on July 31. Details about the smartphone are scarce at the moment.

Original Story Below

Nothing unveiled the Phone (2a) earlier last month as a lower-end mid-ranger and it impressed us with its build quality and the overall value on offer. The brand is seemingly planning to build upon the success of the Nothing Phone (2a) with a new Phone (2a) Pro or Phone (2a) Plus. Here’s what we know about it so far.

Developer Dylan Roussel, also responsible for leaking the design of the Phone (2a) months ahead of the launch, shared two codenames for Nothing’s upcoming smartphones, including PacmanPro and Tetris. While he didn’t share any specifics for the smartphones, a publication came up with what products the codenames could correspond to.

Android Headlines say that the Nothing Phone (2a) is known to have the codenames “Aerodactyl” and “PacMan”. With the emergence of the codename “PacManPro”, it is essentially confirmed that it is associated with an improved version of the Nothing Phone (2a), to be precise, a Pro or a Plus model.

Read More: Nothing Phone (3) Leaks: Everything We Know

The Nothing Phone (2a) has the model number “A142“ and new smartphone codenamed “PacManPro” was leaked in the database with the model number “A142P”, further suggesting the leaked claim could actually be legit. They say that the letter ‘P’ in A142P stands for the Pro or Plus moniker.

It’s worth noting that Nothing recently announced a new community program where it would pick one design for the Phone (2a) that would be made by one of the community members and would turn it into a real product, meaning it would retail the same for general public. It’s possible that the A142P PacmanPro may be the model number or codename for the Community edition of the Phone (2a). However, nothing has been officially announced yet. There’s also no word on what the other codename – Tetris – stands for.

When Are The 2024 Apple iPads Coming?

0

It’s been more than a year since the iPad lineup was updated and Apple has been working hard on launching the new models. However, Apple has faced multiple delays in launching the 2024 models of iPads due to various reasons but now, we may finally have a believable launch timeframe.

Apple iPad Pro, iPad Air 2024: Launch Timeframe

According to a DigiTimes report, the 2024 models of Apple iPads, including thenAir and the Pro, aren’t too far from launch. Citing sources at Taiwanese suppliers, the report says that mass production of camera lenses for the upcoming iPads has been “repeatedly postponed,” and the report mentions that a “production launch” will probably take place in May.

According to a report from last week that came via Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is targeting an “early May” launch for its 2024 iPad Pro and iPad Air models as the production is already increasing in Asia. Gurman mentioned that Apple is finalising iPadOS software development for these new models and that advanced display manufacturing techniques are also causing the launch to be delayed.

The iPad Pro models — codenamed J717, J718, J720 and J721 — are expected to be powered by the new M3 chip and work with redesigned versions of the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. As for the iPad Air, it will get a new and will be available in a new 12.9-screen size. This will give consumers an option for a bigger iPad at a cheaper price point than the Pro model.

The Apple iPad was reported to launch in March 2024 multiple times before getting delayed for an early April arrival. Due to unfinished software and complex manufacturing for the new OLED screen on the iPad Pro, the launch has been delayed for early May.

As a cherry on top, the upcoming iPad models with the model numbers A2836 and A2837 were recently spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website confirming imminent India launch. Now, another publication has spotted the upcoming iPads with the model numbers A2898 and A2899 on the same certification website, signalling the 2024 iPad Pro and iPad Air launch is near.

Infinix Zero Flip: Brand’s First Foldable Incoming

0

Most of the smartphone brands now have their own respective foldable smartphone out in the world but Infinix has been missing out on the trend. It won’t stay that way for long according to a new report which states that Infinix Zero Flip is now coming as the brand’s first foldable smartphone ever.

Coming from Android Headlines, “the existence of the new smartphone is officially confirmed”, says the publication. An Infinix model by the name of X6962 had passed EEC certification a few weeks back and the publication’s internal sources have now revealed that this model number belongs to the Infinix Zero Flip.

Not much else was shared by them regarding the specifications of the Infinix device but it is expected to be an affordable foldable smartphone rather than being on the pricier side like majority of the foldable smartphones. Infinix is known for operating in the budget segment and that wouldn’t change with the Zero Flip.

Infinix’ sister brand Tecno is the only brand under Transsion Holdings that has a foldable deployed in the market. It is also possible that Infinix’s Zero Flip may be highly inspired by the Tecno Phantom V Flip.

Launched last year as the cheapest flip foldable in India, the Phantom V Flip was priced at Rs 59,999. The Phantom V Flip 5G sports a 6.9-inch full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) flexible LTPO AMOLED inner display that supports 1000 nits peak brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. The circular AMOLED cover display is 1.32 inches with Always-on display functionality.

The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC paired with Arm Mali-G77 GPU, 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage. The device supports virtual RAM also. It ships with Android 13 and is touted to get two years of OS updates and three years of security patches.

The Phantom V Flip includes a dual rear camera setup, including a 64MP f/1.7 primary sensor and a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle sensor. A Quad Flashlight unit accompanies it. The front camera is a 32MP sensor with f/2.5 aperture.

Refreshed iPhone 16 Design, Capture Button Shown Off Via Leaked Dummy Unit

0

The next iPhone launch is still months away but a new leak has confirmed what one can expect from the iPhone 16 series. Photos of purported dummy units of iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max have been shared online, suggesting once again that the non-pro models are in for a design refresh, along with giving us a look at the capture button and the action button on all four of them.

Shared on social media by Sonny Dickson, the photos of dummy units of all four iPhone 16 series models show that the vanilla and plus models will get a refreshed design with the cameras now stacked vertically instead of the diagonal placement. A report from last December suggested the same, meaning one can finally expect the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus to look different from its predecessors.

Next, the action button is now also making its way to the non-pro iPhones, while it was only available in the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max which launched last year. The sizes of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will also slightly be larger than the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The Pro could go up from 6.1 to 6.3-inches while the Pro Max may go up from 6.7 to 6.9-inches, making it the largest iPhone Apple has ever made.

The new capture button will also be seen on all four iPhone 16 models. It will be present below the power button on the right spine of the handset. The Capture button will feature a mechanical design. However, it will have a capacitive surface that will support touch-based gestures for zooming in and out.

Overall, the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max haven’t changed a lot in terms of design over their predecessors. They still have the same camera layout along with newer dimensions. The devices are expected to debut in the second half of 2024, around September. It would be interesting to see what other changes the iPhones might bring, especially in terms of software as 18 is expected to be one of the major updates this year.
