Indus Appstore, developed by PhonePe, has launched a Voice Search feature that supports English and 10 Indian languages. This new feature uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to recognise different accents and speech patterns, making it easier for users to search for apps in their preferred language.
The introduction of Voice Search aims to improve accessibility and inclusivity, catering to a large portion of India’s internet users who speak vernacular languages and may face challenges with traditional text-based searches.
Akash Dongre, Co-founder and CPO of Indus Appstore, emphasised that the Voice Search feature is part of their commitment to creating a more accessible digital environment. He noted that a significant percentage of smartphone users already utilise voice-activated technology, and integrating Indian languages is expected to drive further technological adoption across all age groups in India.
The Indus Appstore, which is available in English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Odia, Punjabi, Malayalam, Bengali, Assamese, and Kannada, is positioned as a localised alternative to other major app stores such as Google Playstore. It offers a wide range of apps across various categories and is designed to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of Indian consumers, claims the company.
The Indus App Store is a platform that offers numerous benefits to app developers in India as well. For developers, the store does not charge any app listing fee until April 2025 and allows them to use any third-party payment gateway of their choice, giving them greater flexibility and control over their app monetisation and distribution. Additionally, the Indus App Store provides developers with localised support and tools for app promotion and optimisation.
The Indus Appstore and its new Voice Search feature represent a strategic move to enhance user experience and engagement in the Indian app market, providing a localised and user-friendly alternative to global app stores.
Realme has recently launched the Narzo 70x 5G smartphone in India. It is the second smartphone in the Narzo 70 series lineup. The device seems to be a rebranded version of Realme 12x 5G and offers similar features such as 45W Fast charging support and a 120Hz display. If you are planning to buy this smartphone, here’s everything you need to know about it, along with an answer to the question of whether you should invest your money in it or consider other options.
Realme Narzo 70x 5G: Price, Availability
The Narzo 70x 5G can be bought in two versions: 4GB + 128GB, priced at Rs 11,999, and 6GB + 128GB, priced at Rs 13,499. It is available in Ice Blue and Forest Green shades. During the early bird sale on April 24, 6 PM IST to 8 PM IST on Realme’s website, one can avail of a Rs 1,000 discount on the 4GB model and Rs 1,500 discount on the 6GB trim. You also get other benefits such as Realme Buds T110 at just Rs 1,299, 50% off on the Realme Care+ plan, and more. The device can also be bought via Amazon India.
Realme Narzo 70x 5G: Specs
Realme Narzo 70x 5G sports a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240hz touch sampling rate, Panda Glass protection, and 950 nits of peak brightness. The device has an IP54 rating for splash and dust resistance. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor paired with up to 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
For optics, it gets a dual camera setup at the back, including a 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor and a 2MP f/2.4 Monochrome sensor. On the front is an 8MP selfie shooter with an 80-degree field of view and an f/2.0 aperture. The handset is backed up by a 5000mAh battery with 45W fast wired charging.
The device runs on Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0 and offers dual-SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS, 3.5mm Audio Jack, and a USB-C port for connectivity options. It also has stereo speakers for audio and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for Biometrics that also acts as a Dynamic button.
Realme Narzo 70x 5G vs Realme 12x 5G:
The Narzo 70x 5G is basically a rebranded Realme 12x 5G, with the only difference being the new Icy Blue shade. Even the prices for the variants are the exact same.
Just to clarify, the Realme Narzo 70x 5G and Realme 12x 5G smartphones both have a 6.72-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. They are equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processors, 4/6 GB of RAM, and 128GB of expandable storage. Both devices support 5G connectivity and feature dual-camera setups with a 50MP primary sensor. Additionally, they are powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. These smartphones run on Android version 14.
Realme Narzo 70x 5G Alternatives
At Rs 13,499, you also get the Vivo T3x 5G, which gets you less RAM (4GB) compared to Realme’s 6GB. However, it compensates for that with a better chipset, faster RAM, a bigger 6000mAh battery, and a better IP64 rating, which we feel is more than enough for the RAM tradeoff.
Not only that, but the Galaxy F15 5G beats the Narzo 70x with its FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display, the same Chipset and storage but lesser RAM (4GB), an ultra-wide angle camera on the back, and a bigger battery also. However, you do compromise on charging speed which is 25W. Despite the drawbacks in RAM and charging speed departments, the Galaxy F15 5G at Rs 12,999 is a better overall smartphone, also because of the longer software support.
To sum up, you can easily skip the Realme Narzo 70x 5G and pick other better options in the same price segment unless you desperately want 6GB of RAM or cannot shell out more for its competitors’ 6GB RAM variants.
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi recently announced the launch of a new budget tablet called the Redmi Pad SE. The new Redmi tablet competes with Lenovo P11 Gen 2. Here’s a comparison between the two solely based on their specification.
Display
The Redmi Pad SE sports an 11-inch 2K resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels) LCD display with a 207 ppi, 90Hz refresh rate, up to 400 nits typical brightness, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and 8-bit colour depth. On the other hand, the Lenovo Tab P11 comes with an 11.5-inch 2K (2000 x 1200 pixels) IPS display with 400 nits brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and 10 touch points support.
Both displays are identical in terms of resolution and brightness, but the Lenovo Tab has a higher Refresh Rate and is marginally bigger than the Redmi Pad SE’s panel. The higher refresh rate will result in a smoother experience with fluid animations, which is why the Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 wins this round.
Power & Software
The Redmi Pad SE is backed up by the Snapdragon 680 Processor paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage that is expandable up to 1TB. The Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 has the MediaTek Helio G99 processor paired with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which is also expandable. The Lenovo Tab runs on Android 12L and is upgradeable till Android 14 while on the other hand, the Pad SE runs on MIUI Pad 14-based Android 13 and will get updates till Android 15.
Processor-wise and for storage, the Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 wins because its hardware is better. However, if you want more RAM along with longer software support, the Redmi Pad SE seems like a better choice. As a result, we’d give this one a draw.
The Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 has a 7700mAh battery with support for 20W Fast charging while the Redmi Pad SE has an 8000mAh cell with 10W charging. We could give this a tie but we feel a bigger battery is more important than faster charging as it would allow for a longer runtime, hence, the Pad SE being the winner in terms of battery.
For cameras, the Redmi Pad SE has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera while the Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 has an 8MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera, which is why the Lenovo tablet wins the camera round.
Verdict
The Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 is available in India for Rs 16,999 for the sole 6GB + 128GB model while the Redmi Pad SE costs Rs 12,999 for the 4GB + 128GB model, Rs 13,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model and Rs 14,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model. Value-wise, we feel the Redmi Pad SE should serve you just fine for daily use and watching content but if you want to get even more out of the money you pay and can shell out a little more, the Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 would be a better choice.
Qubo, a player in smart home technology, has introduced the InstaView, a video doorbell system with a portable home display unit. It is available on the Qubo website and will soon be accessible through major e-commerce platforms and retail outlets across India for Rs 14,990.
Video doorbells offer a safer and more convenient means to monitor front-door activity from anywhere. Historically, these devices have been limited by fixed display units and modest technological capabilities. However, with the rise of smart home technology, companies like Qubo have started adding more features. The original Qubo Video Doorbell allowed users to view visitors through their smartphones. Building on the previously launched doorbell, Qubo’s latest offering, the InstaView, has been integrated with a portable display tablet, the Qubo Home Tab, which can be used anywhere in or around the home.
InstaView: Features and specifications
The Qubo InstaView includes the Video Doorbell Pro and the Qubo Home Tab.
The Video Doorbell Pro has a 3MP 2K resolution camera for sharp and clear images. Its 2W speaker supports two-way communication and supports echo-cancelling. The device supports Dual-Band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz & 5 GHz) and Ethernet PoE, making it suitable for various home types, from apartments to villas.
On the other hand, the Qubo Home Tab is an 8-inch wireless touchscreen display designed to provide portability and flexibility. Compared to traditional fixed units, this device can be placed anywhere, making it more convenient for users. The company claims, “It serves multiple functions, including acting as a video doorbell screen, a digital photo frame, and a potential central hub for other smart home devices.” It has an 8GB memory inbuilt for storing media, including photos.
The main benefit of InstaView is that users can now place the Home Tab anywhere in their house, which means they are no longer limited to a specific location to monitor their front door. This feature benefits larger homes where a fixed unit may only be reachable from some areas.

The camera placement and the overall design remain similar but with a few refinements in the geometrical shapes. It may also get the same set of LED lights that could be used for various device functions.

According to the leak, the standard variant will start at RM 1,299, which puts the upcoming device in the Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 segment. The GT 10 Pro was priced starting at Rs 19,999 in India.
Nothing has a sub-brand called CMF which has mostly dealt in the accessories segment since its inception last year but it seems like it may finally be ready to release a smartphone as well, according to the latest development. However, it is unclear as of now as to what specifications would the smartphone have.
A new device model number, A015, initially discovered by Android Headlines, was associated with the “Nothing” brand, suggesting that it could be the long-awaited Nothing Phone 3, codenamed “Tetris.” However, the model number didn’t seem to be following Nothing’s usual pattern of codenames with its smartphones, such as the Nothing Phone (1) featured the “A063” tag while the Phone (2) had “A065.”
It is when 91Mobiles spotted the same model on the BIS certification website, it was cleared out that the model A015 isn’t a smartphone from Nothing but from its sub-brand CMF. It is unclear if its really a smartphone or some other kind of product but judging by the model numbers of Nothing’s own devices, it could very well be a phone.
CMF By Nothing has had a goal to bring the top-notch specs at an affordable price tag which could stand true for its smartphone as well. However, as the Nothing Phone (2a) already exists at a lower mid-range price point, it is yet to be seen whether the CMF smartphone would undercut it or launch at a similar price tag.
Meanwhile, Nothing recently debuted its Nothing Ear and the Ear (a) globally, including India. It also announced that its bringing AI to all of its products with ChatGPT integration. For its smartphones, the brand is first bringing ChatGPT to the Nothing Phone (2) via the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update, which is now rolling out to users worldwide. It adds a ChatGPT widget for quick access from the home screen and the option to quickly copy and paste screenshots and clipboard text into a new conversation in the ChatGPT app.
Samsung recently expanded its M-series of mid-rangers in India with the launch of the Galaxy M55 5G. The Galaxy M55 brings some of the segment-first features in the case of Samsung smartphones specifically and packs it all for a starting price of Rs 26,999. Should you consider this device over Samsung’s own Galaxy A35 5G and other contenders in the range, such as the Nothing Phone (2a)? Find out in our review of the Galaxy M55 5G.
Design & Display
The Galaxy M55 5G sports an all-plastic design, but the rear panel gets a smooth and sparkly matte finish in two shades, where we had the light green one. The handset is quite slim, which allows for a good grip. The plastic frame isn’t the most premium-feeling, but the rear panel is, thanks to its looks and the in-hand feel. It is quite slippery, but because it is a slim and narrow device, it can easily be held in one hand.
The rear design isn’t anything unique than what Samsung has been doing for the past 2 years, but it looks minimal, for sure. It misses out on the key island we saw on the Galaxy A35 5G and the Galaxy A55 5G but the keys still feel tactile when clicked. Not only that but the device is impressively lightweight as well.
Compared to the Galaxy A35 5G, though, the Galaxy M55 5G has weaker Haptics and even poorer-quality speakers. It is a stereo speaker setup and gets loud enough, but the audio sounds tinny and lacks depth.
The display is a 6.6-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED panel with a full-HD+ Resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels), Dragontrail glass protection, and 1000 nits peak brightness.
In terms of colours, it’s quite vibrant, and the viewing angles are excellent. It gets adequately bright under sunlight, the text looks sharp, and thanks to the vivid colour profile and deep blacks, Netflix and other video content looks exceptional.
The bezels are well-contained, while the 120Hz Refresh Rate adds to overall appeal. I’d go as far as to say that this is the best screen we have seen at this price point, even more so than the Nothing Phone (2a). It also has an optical in-display fingerprint sensor that’s positioned quite low but works as intended.
The Galaxy M55 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, paired with up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, which is expandable via a Hybrid slot. Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is a capable processor, as it has proved in our previous tests on other smartphones, such as the Honor 90, and it shows the same characteristics here as well.
There weren’t a lot of performance hiccups during our review of the Galaxy M55, except that the overall experience wasn’t quite smooth. The animations are much better than what we saw on Galaxy A35 5G and are smoother but they still aren’t completely stutter-free as such. There are lags in software, but from my experience with previous Samsung mid-rangers as well, I cannot blame it on the Processor but on the optimisation that Samsung has carried out.
The processor never heated up in Honor 90 even during casual gaming but in case of Galaxy M55 5G, the device did get warm quite often where it shouldn’t have. As it heats up, the performance begins to throttle and even when it isn’t warm, the animation stutters can be noticed across the system, such as when switching apps by swiping left or right through the gesture bar.
RAM management was handled well by the software; on the positive side, it has many features to play with. One UI 6.1 in mid-rangers may not be the best in terms of optimization, but the feature set is vast. Themes, various AOD styles, motions, and gestures, dual accounts for apps, etc., are all available.
You will have to de-bloat the device significantly, considering it comes with more than 5 pre-installed apps and it also sends unnecessary notifications from AppCloud. Fortunately, all the mentioned stuff can either be uninstalled or disabled.
The Galaxy M55 5G is running on the March 2024 security patch at the time of writing this review and Samsung says the device will receive major OS updates for 4 years and 5 years of security patches.
We hope Samsung does improve the performance of the handset with updates as One UI 6.1 is one of the most stable software skins in terms of no major bugs but the optimisation needs to be done better. Connectivity performance of the handset with Jio 5G, 5Ghz Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth remained optimum. The handset also supports NFC.
Battery backup
The handset has a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W fast wired charging, a first for a Samsung mid-ranger. The battery can last about a whole day, but the Screen-on time could be better.
I have seen Galaxy A35 5G and A55 5G perform better with the same type of usage. It got me around 5 hours of screen-on time while using Chrome, watching videos, scrolling through social media, and playing casual games, but it should have been closer to 6 since this usage isn’t heavy. Further, as we mentioned, the device did get unusually warm during light gaming which may have impacted the battery backup.
Also, the backup of the Nothing Phone (2a) was far better than the Galaxy M55 5G in our review of the device.
The device took around 1h 05m to charge from 7% to 100%, which is decent but not the best compared to the competition.
As mentioned for software, Samsung needs to optimise the battery area.
Cameras
The Galaxy M55 5G has a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP f/1.8 main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle f/2.2 sensor, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro sensor. At the front, it gets a 50MP f/2.4 sensor, which is the highest-megapixel front-facing sensor ever in a Samsung phone.
The Galaxy M55 5G clicks quite detailed and sharp photos from the main sensor but the colours are completely disappointing. They don’t even feel natural but quite faded, while the dynamic range seems average at best.
As for the ultra-wide angle shots, the colours are similar but the detailing and sharpness in the shot drop. The EDGE distortion has been well contained but the photo doesn’t please the eye as it usually does with Samsung cameras.
The selfies from Samsung’s first-ever 50MP front-facing sensor aren’t as impressive as you’d expect them to be. The edge detection is on point, but the skin tone looks dull. As for the detailing, the photos look soft, which is, again, something I didn’t expect. Not only that, but the HDR seems overdone at times, and it can considerably dull down the colours of your face in some shots, making the picture unusable.
Macro shots from the third sensor are below average as well. They lack sharpness, look smudgy, and the colours aren’t the most accurate either.
Shots clicked under artificial lighting have decent detailing, but again, the colours are a mismatch to reality. Low-light shots look overly soft and unappealing.
Photos clicked in pitch dark barely have any detail, but the second you turn on night mode, things improve drastically. Not only does the whole shot become more visible, but it also becomes more detailed.
After years of requests and more than a decade since when the first iPad came out, Apple could finally be planning to give its tablet the calculator app. As bizarre as it may sound, even in 2024, the iPads do not have a built-in calculator but that could change as soon as later this year.
The information comes from a private source that shared with MacRumors that a calculator App is coming to all iPads with the iPadOS 18 update. Of course, those iPads which aren’t eligible for the update may not receive the calculator app. The iPadOS 18 update is set to be the next major update for iPads and it should be debuting on June 10, the day on which Apple’s annual WWDC 2024 event begins.
A few years back, Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, explained in an interview on MKBHD’s podcast that Apple hasn’t released a Calculator app for the iPads because it has to be “distinctly great”. By the looks of it, one can expect something major with calculator app on iPad but if it does end up looking like a zoomed in version of the iPhone’s calculator, it could be a huge bummer.
A list of iPads that will have support for iPadOS 18 has been leaked once before. It includes the likes of iPad (2019 and later), iPad mini (2019 and later), iPad Air (2019 and later), and iPad Pro (2018 and later). Apple could also be dropping support for a few iPad models.
Apple ‘Let Loose’ Event
Talking of iPads, Apple has announced its Let Loose event that is set to take place on May 7 and the new event is expected to introduce an OLED iPad Pro with an M3 chip, a 12.9-inch iPad Air with an M2 chip, and a new Apple Pencil as well. Apple is showing various illustrations on for the Let Loose event on its website where one of illustrations shows a pencil, suggesting the launch of the 2024 iPads and a new Apple pencil.
Itel has launched a new smartphone in India, called the Itel S24, as the first device to have a 108MP camera priced under Rs 10,000. The smartphone also has features like dual DTS speakers, a MediaTek Helio Processor and more. Here are all the details about the newly launched Itel S24.
Itel S24: Price, Availability

The camera supports EIS while there’s a flashlight on both the front and the back.
On the front, there’s an 8MP sensor. The handset is backed up by a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. It runs on itel OS 13.5, based on Android 13 and gets features like Social Turbo, Game Mode, Dual App, Video Assistant, Kids Mode, Peek Proof, Smart Panel, and more.
There’s also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. Connectivity options the device includes Dual-SIM, 4G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB 2.0 port for charging. Finally, the device also has a stereo speaker setup.
Itel S24: Alternative
The Itel S24 looks like a decent value for money offering on-paper and does beat some of its competitors in the segment. However, there is one which does excel in a couple of areas and even offers better hardware than Itel’s device, and it is the Moto G24 Power. The G24 Power offers a bigger 6000mAh battery and Android 14 out of the box, both of which the Itel S24 lacks. If these two are a priority for you, then Moto G24 Power would be a better pick.
