Honor Magic 6 Pro 5G To Launch Before Diwali in India, Honor 200 5G Series Coming in July

HTech has been working hard to bring new Honor smartphones to India, and the Honor 200 series is confirmed to be its next launch in the country. To date, two Honor smartphones have been launched in India: the Honor X9B and Honor 90.

” Honor will launch the Honor 200 5G and the Honor 200 Pro 5G in India sometime in the next quarter (around July), ” said Madhav Seth, CEO of HTech.

He further added, ” Honor Magic 6 Pro will be launched in India before Diwali and could be made in India.” This statement confirms the India launch timeline of Honor Magic 6 Pro, which we reported last week.

Sharing information on the future smartphone lineup, Seth said, ” By March, Honor will launch six smartphones in India in Different price segments.”

Honor had introduced its latest Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro models in China this Monday. These new devices, designed to cater to tech-savvy consumers, boast a range of high-end specifications, including Snapdragon chipsets, full-HD+ screens, and large-capacity batteries.

The launch event revealed that both models feature a consistent aesthetic and come equipped with 5,200mAh batteries, supporting 100W fast wired charging. Additionally, both phones incorporate triple rear camera setups with 50-megapixel main sensors, enhancing photo and video quality.

Following the release in China, HTech’s CEO, Madhav Sheth, hinted at an upcoming launch for the Indian market. Through a post on X on Monday, Sheth confirmed that the Honor 200 series would soon be available in India, featuring 5G connectivity to leverage the latest in high-speed technology.

Further distinguishing the Pro model is that it offers 66W wireless and includes a C1+ RF enhancement chip, which promises improved signal reception and overall device performance. Both models also feature in-display fingerprint for enhanced security.

Honor 200 series specifications

Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro run on MagicOS 8.0, based on 14, and feature high-resolution full-HD+ displays. The Pro model is equipped with a 6.78-inch screen and is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, while the vanilla Honor 200 features a 6.7-inch screen with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. The comprehensive camera system on both models includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle macro camera, topped off with a 50-megapixel front camera for selfies.

In China, the base model of the Honor 200, which includes 12GB and 256GB storage, is available at a price of CNY 2,699 (approximately Rs. 30,000), whereas the Honor 200 Pro is priced at CNY 3,499 (approximately Rs. 40,000) for the same memory configuration. The pricing for the Indian market is expected to align closely with these figures.

Honor and Smartwatch 2024 line Up:

HTech won’t forget the accessories, as it says that it will expand the TWS lineup as well with Pro versions of the earbuds and more upgrades to the segment lined up. Apart from that, it is also planning to bring more additions to the smartwatches segment with two more launches incoming. Sheth says the company is also exploring the Kids’ smartwatch space. However, nothing has been confirmed so far, as the brand is still exploring its options.

Realme GT 6 Coming To India Soon: Confirmed

0

Realme recently debuted the GT 6T in India and confirmed that the GT 7 Pro is also coming to the country at some point later in the year. However, ahead of that, the brand is all set to launch the Realme GT 6 in India alongside other international markets, as confirmed by the CEO of the brand.

Realme founder & CEO Sky Li talked about the return of the GT series smartphones in an interview with Forbes. The upcoming smartphone in the series, dubbed Realme GT 6, is being given the status of a “flagship killer”, denoting it would offer premium-grade features at a relatively affordable price tag.

Meanwhile, Realme Global’s X account posted that “GT series will be launched in Italy, India, Indonesia, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Brazil, Poland, Turkey,Saudi Arabia, and more. This time, we bring realme GT 6 with AI.” This suggests that the brand is working towards bringing the Realme GT 6 to India and the other mentioned countries while the launch could take place as soon as next month.

The Realme GT 6 is expected to be a rebranded Realme GT Neo 6 which debuted in China earlier this month. Not only that, but the handset will also sport AI features, which are also confirmed to be coming to the Realme GT 6T.

Realme GT 6: Expected Specifications

The GT 6 may sport the same specs as the GT Neo 6. The Realme GT Neo 6 sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K Resolution (2780 x 1264 pixels) AMOLED Display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, 450 ppi, 10-bit colours and 6000 nits peak brightness. The handset is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset paired up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. The phone runs on Android 14 with Realme UI 5.0 skin on top.

As for the optics, the GT Neo 6 has dual cameras on the back, including a 50-megapixel f/1.88 IMX882 primary sensor and an 8-megapixel f/2.2 IMX355 ultra wide angle lens. Meanwhile, the front houses a 32-megapixel f/2.45 IMX615 selfie camera.

Connectivity options include 5G, dual 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for charging. Further, GT Neo 6 packs a 5,500mAh battery with 120W Fast charging support. Additionally, it includes an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, X-axis linear vibration motor, IR blaster, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and VC liquid cooling.

Android 14-based Magic OS 8.0 With AI coming to all Honor smartphones in India

Honor X9b and Honor 90 are two smartphones from Honor in India that are currently running on the Android 13-based Magic 7.2. The Android 14-based Magic OS 8.0 is set to debut in India with the launch of the Honor 200 series. This update is also expected to be available for the aforementioned two devices at around the same time as the launch of the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro in the country.

The Mobile Indian was informed way back in February 2024 that the Android 14-based Magic OS 8.0 will be coming to Honor X9b and the Honor 90 sometime during Q2 of 2024. But now we have a concrete update.

Madhav Sheth, CEO at HTech, the brand licence of Honor smartphones in India, has confirmed to The Mobile Indian that Magic OS 8.0 will be coming to older devices around the same timeframe as the launch of the Honor 200 5G series in India.

He added, “Honor 200 5G will be launching in India around July, and around the same time, Honor X9b and Honor 90 will get Android 14-based Maigic OS 8.0.”

“The Magic OS 8.0 update will have AI-powered features and will run on Honor 200 5G series out of the box,” Sheth further added.

When compared with the competition, the brand is definitely behind in the updates race, considering many of the OEMs have even pushed out the Android 15 beta update. In fact, Honor itself has released the Android 15 Beta update for its Magic 6 Pro 5G and Magic V2 smartphones internationally.

Speaking of Magic 6 Pro 5G, the CEO of Honor Tech says that the device is confirmed to arrive in India. He also hinted at the launch timeframe and claimed that it will launch in the country before Diwali 2024.

MediaTek Dimensity 7300, Dimensity 7300X 5G Chipsets Enable AI For Mid-Rangers, Foldables

MediaTek today announced the Dimensity 7300 and the Dimensity 7300X, a pair of 4nm chips for mobile chipsets. These new MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipsets are claimed to enable effortless multitasking, enhanced photography, accelerated gaming, and AI-enhanced computing. Additionally, the Dimensity 7300X is designed specifically for flip-style foldable devices, providing support for dual displays.

MediaTek Dimensity 7300, Dimensity 7300X: Features

Both MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipsets have an octa-core consisting of 4X Arm Cortex-A78 cores operating at up to 2.5GHz paired with 4X Arm Cortex-A55 cores. The 4nm process provides up to 25% lower power consumption in the A78 cores compared to the Dimensity 7050 processor.

The CPU works together with the latest Arm Mali-G615 and a suite of MediaTek HyperEngine optimizations to account for a superior gaming experience. In comparison to competitor alternatives, the Dimensity 7300 series offers 20% faster and 20% improved energy efficiency. However, MediaTek didn’t specify which chips it took into consideration for the comparison.

To further enhance gaming experiences, the new chips utilize smart resource optimization, optimize and Wi-Fi game connections, and support LE Audio technology with Dual-Link True Wireless Stereo audio.

The Dimensity 7300 chipsets also offer upgraded photography with the MediaTek Imagiq 950, featuring a 12-bit HDR-ISP with support for up to a 200MP main camera. It further sports new hardware engines providing precise noise reduction (MCNR), face detection (HWFD), and video HDR. Additionally, live focus photo performance is up to 1.3X faster and photo remastering is up to 1.5X faster than the Dimensity 7050. Users can also record HDR video with over 50% wider dynamic range compared to competitor solutions.

Next, they come with MediaTek’s MiraVision 955 built-in, which means the Dimensity 7300 SoCs support up to WFHD+ displays with 10-bit true color, along with global HDR standards, enhancing media streaming and playback. Additionally, the Dimensity 7300X chip offers dedicated support for dual-display flip phones.

Finally, the chips have support for 3.27Gb/s 5G downlink via 3CC carrier aggregation, Tri-band Wi-Fi 6E support, along with dual 5G support with dual VoNR.

Exclusive – HTech To Sell Honor Smartphone Chargers Via Own Website in India

0

HTech has been hard at work to provide a seamless experience to its buyers, but it missed the mark when it came to Honor smartphone chargers. Neither the brand provided these within the box, nor was the external availability of the chargers consistent so users could buy them separately. That will soon be fixed, as HTech has confirmed to The Mobile Indian that it will soon begin selling official Honor chargers via its own website later this week.

Madhav Sheth, CEO of HTech, a brand licensee of Honor Products in India, told The Mobile Indian, “We will be selling the original Honor chargers for our smartphones via HTech Website. Probably by later this week or early next week, the listings for the chargers will appear on our website so users can buy those directly from us.”

Explaining the reason behind the delayed arrival of the chargers, Sheth said, “We had to make sure to get proper certifications in India for the chargers before we could sell them as they contain Honor’s chips and patented technology.” It’s appreciable that the brand is owning up to the delay and has rectified it. Availability on the brand’s own website should instil confidence in buyers’ minds that they’ll be getting consistent service from HTech in the country.

Meanwhile, Sheth also confirmed the premium Honor products that are in the pipeline for launch in India. These include the Honor 200 and the Honor 200 5G Pro, which will be coming before the end of the quarter. Honor will also be bringing the Magic 6 Pro 5G to India before Diwali this year.

Not only that, but the brand is also planning to initiate local manufacturing of its smartphones in sometime before Diwali. Producing devices locally in India would help the brand keep its costs under control and will also allow it to land more products in the market in a timely manner and in line with the consumer’s demands.

Now, Samsung is prepping up the One 6 Watch update that will also bring AI features to all of its Wear-OS powered Galaxy Watches from Watch 4 series to Watch 6 series, and a beta version is coming next month.

Samsung made the announcement via its Newsroom where it detailed a couple of the features coming with the next major Wear OS-based One UI 6 Watch update and also confirmed that a beta version of it will be rolled out as soon as in June. The beta will be available for all smartwatches in the:

  • Galaxy Watch 4 Series
  • Galaxy Watch 5 Series
  • Galaxy Watch 6 Series

One UI 6 Watch: Features

As for the new features incorporated in the update, Samsung says its combining Galaxy AI with Samsung Health, where new health features will provide you with more comprehensive health insights, along with motivational encouragement to help you improve your daily wellness. The first feature is dubbed Energy Score, where users will receive a better understanding of their daily condition through a combined analysis of personal health metrics including sleep time average, sleep time consistency, bed/wake time consistency, sleep timing, previous day activity, sleeping heart rate and heart rate variability.

One ui 6 watch wellness tips

The second one is called Wellness Tips that helps you reach your personal health goals by offering insights, motivational tips and guidance based on the specific goal you’re looking to achieve. Now, enhanced health algorithms and advanced tracking tools will provide more holistic, personalized and actionable insights when combined with AI.

The company is now enhancing its sleep AI algorithm to provide additional in-depth sleep insights. This includes the newly added sleep indicators for Sleep Insights that’ll offer a more detailed and accurate analysis of your sleep quality so you can better understand your sleep patterns and build better habits.

The added metrics include movement during sleep, sleep latency, heart rate and respiratory rate during sleep in addition to previously supported metrics like snoring hours, blood oxygen level and sleep cycle.

Samsung is also offering new fitness features for tailored training. In addition to the five running intensity levels of the Personalized Health Rate Zone, new detailed Aerobic Threshold (AT) / Anaerobic Threshold (AnT) Heart Rate Zone metrics are being offered that will support efficient running while also quickly analysing performance.

Plus, cyclists can easily calculate Functional Threshold Power (FTP) metrics in just 10 minutes and gain better insight about their health metrics by using a personalised power index based on AI data analysis to maximise performance. Finally, there’s also Workout Routine, which combines various exercises for a personalised workout and seamlessly transition to the next exercise without stopping. Users can track their progress when running or cycling using Race, which compares current and past performance on the same routes.

These new features will be available on the next Galaxy Watch line-up via One UI 6 Watch, available later this year. Samsung further says that “this is only a small taste of what we have in store for our users, and we can’t wait to show the full power of Galaxy AI when integrated with the advanced hardware upgrades coming to the new Galaxy Watch series,” hinting towards the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 series, which likely also includes an Ultra model.

Apple TV+ App For Android Could Be In The Works

0

While Apple doesn’t have a lot of its apps on its rival platform, a new one could soon get added to the list and it may be the Apple TV+ app. According to a new report, Apple is hiring for an engineer to help build a new TV and sports application for the Android operating system, suggesting potential launch of the Apple TV+ app on the platform.

The report comes from Bloomberg, as per whom the description of the job listing that was published recently, reads that the hired employee will lead the development of “fun new features” and “help build an application used by millions to watch and discover TV and sports.” While its not explicitly mentioned that its an Apple TV+ app for Android, the job description does highly suggest so.

This move highlights Apple will to gain more market share amongst the billions of Android users who do not have access to an Apple device but would still pay for an Apple TV+ subscription. This would result in a similar situation as Apple Music, whose app and subscription services are also available on Android.

It’s rare to see Apple develop software for Google’s Android, which competes with its platform. As of now, there are only four apps available from Apple on Play Store, including Move to iOS app, Apple Music, Apple Music Classical as well as Tracker Detect.

With Apple TV+’ arrival on Android, users would potentially be able to subscribe to the service and watch original content from the platform on their smartphones itself. We suspect Apple would offer this ability because it is telling applicants that they will “design and architect a sophisticated application.”

Apple already offers the TV+ app on Android TV. Earlier this year, Apple also launched standalone versions of Music, TV and device-management apps for Windows. This suggests that the brand is looking forward to expand its revenue streams by offering its services on other platforms, similar to what Google also does on iOS, where it offers almost its full suite of apps.
