OnePlus Watch 2 China Launch on June 27, Could Launch as OnePlus Watch 3 in India

0

OnePlus is set to hold a launch event in its home market, China, on June 27 where the brand has confirmed that it will debut the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. Now, OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus Watch 2 as well as the OnePlus Pad Pro will also be tagging along with the Ace 3 Pro at the launch. New developments suggest that the OnePlus Watch 2 in China could come to global markets and in India as OnePlus Watch 3.

OnePlus Watch 2 launch was confirmed by OnePlus’ own China website. The brand also shared the images of the watch where it can be seen in two shades, green and black. However, the design of the watch doesn’t match that of the OnePlus Watch 2 which debuted globally and in India earlier in February this year. The right side of the watch doesn’t have the protrusion for the buttons but it instead houses a regular circular dial with two buttons.

OnePlus Watch 2 For China = OnePlus Watch 3 For Global Markets

The design of the Chinese OnePlus Watch 2 hasn’t been seen before in any of the smartwatches from the brand. Further, because OnePlus didn’t launch the Watch 2 in China which it launched globally earlier this year, it’s possible that the Chinese Watch 2 is an entirely new product, and could debut in other markets as OnePlus Watch 3.

That’s because the OnePlus Watch 3 recently made an appearance on multiple certification websites, such as TENAA, BIS and TUV. The TENAA listing for the watch contained a photo of the wearable which matches that of the one shared by OnePlus China on its website for the Watch 2, with the same round dial, hour markers, textured strap, and the two push buttons on the right side.

The recently spotted BIS listing for the watch with the OPWWE234 model number confirms that it will also launch in India at some point in future. The matching designs of the smartwatch seen in the TENAA listing and on the OnePlus website leads us to believe that OnePlus Watch 2 launching in China would launch as OnePlus Watch 3 globally, including India.

The TENAA listing of the watch, with the OPWW234 model number, further suggests that the watch will support connectivity for e-SIMs. The forthcoming OnePlus Watch will support e-SIMs from China Unicom, China Telecom, and China Mobile. In addition, it will also support Bluetooth, GPS, BeiDou, NFC, GLONASS, and WLAN for wireless connectivity.

According to the certification, OnePlus will pack the device with a 500mAh battery cell. The upcoming smartwatch was previously also spotted on the 3C certification, which revealed support for 10W charging speeds.

Aside from the watch, OnePlus will also debut the Pad Pro tablet at the launch Ace 3 Pro launch event.

Realme GT 6 Launched In India: Price, Specs, Competition

0

Realme has announced the launch of its next GT-series smartphone in India after it debuted the Realme GT 6T in the country about a month ago. The new Realme GT 6 has been launched with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 under the hood and it’s paired with LPDDRR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Here’s what all it has to offer.

Realme GT 6: Price, Availability, Offers

The Realme GT 6 starts at Rs 40,999 in India for the 8GB + 256GB option, while the 12GB + 256GB variant of the handset is priced at Rs 42,999. Realme has also launched a 16GB + 512GB model of the GT 6 that’s priced at Rs 44,999. The handset will be offered in Green and Silver colour options. It’ll be available for purchase via mainline retail stores, Realme’s online store and Flipkart.

The pre-order for the device starts today, June 20, at 2:30 PM IST. Buyers can avail of bank discount of up to Rs 4,000 if they pre-order, along with priority shipping and 6-month screen damage protection.

Realme GT 6: Specifications

The Realme GT 6 sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K Resolution (2780 x 1264 pixels) AMOLED Display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, 450 ppi, 10-bit colours, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, and 6000 nits peak brightness. The handset is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset paired up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The phone runs on Android 14 with Realme UI 5.0 skin on top.

As for the optics, the GT 6 has triple cameras on the back, including a 50-megapixel f/1.69 Sony LYT-808 primary sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel f/2.2 IMX355 ultra wide angle lens and a 50-megapixel f/2.0 Samsung JN5 2x telephoto sensor as well. Meanwhile, the front houses a 32-megapixel IMX615 f/2.45 selfie camera.

Connectivity options include 5G, dual 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for charging. Further, GT 6 packs a 5,500mAh battery with 120W Fast charging support. Additionally, it includes an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, X-axis linear vibration motor, IR blaster, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and VC liquid cooling.

Realme GT 6: Competition

Talking of all the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 powered devices available in India, we currently have the Motorola 50 Ultra and the Poco F6 aside from the Realme GT 6. The Poco F6 5G is the cheapest one, starting at Rs 27,999, which offers the same level of power as the Realme GT 6.

However, with Poco’s handset, you miss out on a premium build quality, a telephoto sensor, and you get a smaller battery with slower charging. The display also has lower brightness. While it has its own share of drawbacks, the Poco F6 5G is the best valued device if you want a gaming smartphone for a cheaper price tag.

Comparing the Realme GT 6 with the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, the latter has a steep price of Rs 59,999 for the sole 12GB + 512GB model. It does offer wireless charging support for that price, along with a higher 144Hz refresh rate. However, it gets a smaller 4500mAh battery cell, compared to which the GT 6 should theoretically provide a much better backup. It also falls short in terms of price, as mentioned before.

Overall, the Realme GT 6 seems like an all-rounder offering for its price, packed with flagship-grade features. While it’s definitely worth considering at Rs 39,999, you may also consider the Poco F6 5G if you want to buy a smartphone solely for its performance and for gaming. If you want better cameras along with a bigger battery and a better build quality, opt for the Realme GT 6.

Google’s Tensor G5 Could Be a 3nm Processor Made By TSMC

0

Google has been using Samsung’s foundry for the production of the past 3 generations of its Tensor and it could continue to do so for the upcoming Tensor G4 as well. However, beginning next year, the brand could finally ditch Samsung in favour of the TSMC foundry for making the Tensor G5 using a 3nm process.

A report by Business Korea says that Google is all set to use TSMC’s 3nm process for the production of its next generation of Tensor chips. This move isn’t unexpected, given that Apple began using this process for the iPhone 15 Pro in 2023, while both Qualcomm and MediaTek are anticipated to follow suit with their upcoming chips.

The current Tensor G3 chip by Google is built on Samsung’s 4nm process, and it is expected that the Tensor G4 will further refine and clean up the issues of G3, even though it could use the same 4nm process by Samsung. Google’s Tensor has Samsung’s Exynos processor serving as its foundation and so far, Tensor hasn’t been able to match the standards of its competitors.

It not only lacks behind in processing power but also efficiency. While Samsung did make considerable progress with Exynos earlier this year when it introduced Exynos 2400, the company is reportedly having issues in terms of yield and efficiency with the upcoming Exynos 2500 that’s supposed to use Samsung’s 3nm process. Power consumption and heat performance are reported to be 10-20% lower compared to TSMC’s 3nm process.

This could be another reason why Google is wanting to switch to TSMC beginning with Tensor G5. It would only make sense for Google to focus on significantly improving its Tensor chip with MediaTek, Qualcomm, and Apple making huge waves in the industry.

Reports of Google switching to TSMC for its Tensor chips surfaced back last year in May. This year, the Pixel 9 series is expected to consist of three models, including the Pixel 9, 9 Pro, and 9 Pro XL, all of which will be powered by the Samsung-made Tensor G4 chipset.

How To Send HD Quality Photos By Default In WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is used by millions of users worldwide to share not only texts but also various types of media such as photos, videos, audio, and more. However, in case of photos, their original quality goes away when sharing on the platform as WhatsApp compresses the picture for faster sharing and data saving. If you don’t want WhatsApp to heavily compress the photos and want to send HD quality photos by default every time you send one, here’s how you can do that.

WhatsApp offers a way to send HD photos for a while now, by tapping on the HD button at the top of each file. Now, the platform offers a way to enable this HD toggle by default so that you don’t have to click on it whenever you send a picture to a group or an individual contact. To enable this feature, follow the steps below:

Step 1

WhatsApp HD photo by default

Open WhatsApp and go to its Settings.

Step 2

Now, tap on the “Storage and data” option.

Step 3

Next up, you have to click on the “Media upload quality” option and set it to “HD quality.” Finally, tap on ‘Save‘.

You are done! Once enabled, whenever you share a photo on the messaging platform, it will be shared in HD quality by default. However, do note that WhatsApp will still compress the file and won’t send it in full when this feature is enabled. HD quality compresses the photos but not as much as when the option is set to Standard quality. HD quality photos may be slower to send as they are bigger in size, up to 6 times than standard size photos to be specific, as per WhatsApp.

Samsung Thinks Galaxy S22 Camera Hardware Is Enough For Galaxy S25 In 2025: Report

0

Samsung Galaxy S25 series is expected to debut early next year amd while we are yet to see its renders or detailed specs, some of the features of the devices are being slowly revealed. A new report says that Galaxy S25 will be retaining the same camera hardware as the Galaxy S24, which borrowed camera from its predecessors, including the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S22.

The report that comes from GalaxyClub suggests Samsung will be using the same 50MP primary rear camera sensor in the Galaxy S25 which it used in the Galaxy S24 series. The website didn’t reveal further details about the sensor, such as sensor size and size. In addition, it will also pack the same 12MP front-facing sensor as the Galaxy S24. If that wasn’t enough, both these sensors will also be employed in the Galaxy S25+.

If it’s true, it will be the fourth consecutive year when Samsung would use the same 50MP rear camera sensor. The first time it used the sensor was back in 2022 with the Galaxy S22 and so far, the company has simply been fine tuning the experience via software-based enhancements.

“If exciting things are going to happen with the Galaxy S25’s camera in 2025, this must be done with the ultra-wide-angle and telephoto cameras,” the report read. There’s no information regarding these two sensors as of now. Samsung likes to keep things simple when it comes to cameras on the vanilla and plus models, while it pays the most attention to the cameras on the Ultra.

Further, Samsung is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in all three of the Galaxy S25 series devices, once again departing from the dual-chip strategy it used in Galaxy S24 series. Reports suggest it is likely due to Samsung’s inability to achieve desire yield results with the 3nm node it is using to produce the Exynos 2500 processor. Samsung did make some significant progress with Exynos 2400 this year in terms of thermals and efficiency and we assume the brand doesn’t want to take any risks that could hamper its reputation once again.

OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G May Not Get The Processor Upgrade Users Are Expecting

0

OnePlus has announced that it will be launching the Nord CE 4 Lite 5G in India on June 24 at 7 PM IST and it has even confirmed a couple of key specifications. What it hasn’t confirmed is the processor in use and leaks suggest that OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G may not get the expected processor upgrade from its predecessor.

According to a leak by tipster Paras Guglani on X, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G will pack the Snapdragon 695 processor, which is identical to what the Nord CE 3 Lite 5G got last year. The Snapdragon 695 first debuted back in October 2021, based on a 6nm node. While the hasn’t been a disappointment for regular workflows, it is quite old at this point. In fact, Qualcomm recently launched the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 which is a slightly refined version of the Snapdragon 695.

However, OnePlus still chose to opt for a chipset that is nearly 2.5 years old. Fortunately, the brand does plan to introduce some other upgrades over OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G, and it has confirmed that the Nord CE 4 Lite will pack a 5500mAh battery with reverse charging support. Further, it’ll have a Sony LYT-600 primary camera sensor which will support Optical Image Stabilisation.

The handset is further expected it to get a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz and a peak brightness of 2100 nits. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor could be replaced with an under-display optical fingerprint sensor. As the device could be a rebranded OPPO K12x, it could also boast of faster 80W fast wired charging over the 67W speed on the Nord CE 4 Lite’s predecessor.

The device can be seen having a blue coloured back panel with a dual-camera setup, paired with dual-LED units. The OnePlue branding lies in the middle, while the handset will have a flat frame. The volume and power buttons will reside on the right spine as usual, with a USB-C port, a mic and a speaker grille at the bottom.
