Vivo X200 Pro Mini, Vivo X200 Ultra India Launch Tipped

0

Vivo X200 Pro Mini debuted in China in October but the company didn’t launch the device in India alongside the regular X200 and X200 Pro in December last year. A new report suggests that Vivo X200 Pro Mini and Vivo X200 Ultra India launch might finally take place soon.

According to a BW Businessworld report, Vivo executives, during the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, informed partners that the X200 Pro had completely sold out in India, leading to a request for additional units from its manufacturing facilities. Strong demand for the Vivo X200 Pro in the country could be the driving force behind the launch of the Vivo X200 Ultra India launch, “which Vivo India executives are lobbying for to their headquarters.”

The report further mentioned the expected price segment for the two devices. The X200 Pro started at Rs 94,999 while the X Fold 3 Pro was for Rs 1,59,999. The X200 Ultra could be priced between the X200 Pro and X Fold 3 Pro, while the X200 Pro mini could be priced between the X200 (Rs 71,999) and X200 Pro models.

The yet-to-be-announced X200 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It will reportedly upgrade to a 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT 818 sensor for the ultrawide camera and may use the same sensor, cropped to 1.5x, for the main camera. The 200-megapixel Samsung HP9 sensor could be used for the telephoto camera.

Vivo X200 Pro Mini: Specs

The Vivo X200 Pro mini features a 6.31-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED Display with quad-curved edges and a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout. The display on the X200 Pro mini has a 1.5K pixels resolution, 460 ppi, HDR 10+, a dynamic 120Hz Refresh Rate and 4500 nits peak brightness. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC paired with UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5x RAM.

The Vivo X200 Pro mini has a triple-rear camera setup that includes an OIS-assisted 50MP f/1.57 Sony LYT-818 primary camera, a 50MP f/2.0 Samsung JN1 ultra-wide angle unit with a 108-degree FOV, and a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor with an f/2.67 aperture, PDAF, OIS, and 3x optical zoom. It offers a 32MP f/2.0 selfie shooter at the front. The cameras support Zeiss optics.

The Vivo X200 Pro mini is equipped with a 5700mAh battery unit, 90W fast wired charging support, and 30W wireless charging. It also features an IP69 rating, making it water—anddust-resistant.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.4, GPS/ A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. It also has a single speaker and an X-axis haptic motor along with an in-display optical fingerprint sensor.

Google Pixel 10 Series Renders Reveal Identical Designs as Pixel 9 Series

0

Google Pixel 10 series renders have leaked online, giving us our first look at the upcoming Pixel devices. The renders show the design of the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL and at first glimpse, you’d hardly be able to differentiate them from their respective predecessors, except for the base Pixel 10 which may be in line to receive a major camera upgrade.

Starting off with the Pixel 10 itself, the device will retain the same form factor with a 6.3-inch display, a protruded camera bar, flat matte sides, and an identical button and port placement as well, as per the renders leaked via Android Headlines. However, the one major change you’ll notice is that the device is set to get a third camera which could be a periscope telephoto sensor. To recall, the Pixel 9 has only two rear camera sensors, including a primary sensor and an ultra-wide angle sensor.

Speaking of dimensions, the Pixel 10 will have dimensions of 152.8 x 72 x 8.6mm. The camera module will measure in at an additional 3.4mm, making it 12mm thick in total. That is roughly the same as the Pixel 9, making it marginally thicker at 8.6mm versus the 8.5mm thickness of the Pixel 9.

The leaked Pixel 10 series renders by the same publication also consist of Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL designs. For the Pro, like with the Pixel 9 series, it will have the exact same size as the base Pixel 10. It will get the same 6.3-inch display, glossy flat frame, same button placement, and measure 152.8 x 72 x 8.6mm, making it 0.1mm thicker than the Pixel 9 Pro.

Pixel 10 Pro XL render

Pixel 10 Pro XL is also identical to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro XL. The 10 Pro XL could measure approximately 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5mm where it is 0.1mm longer than the 9 Pro XL. It will get a 6.8-inch display while the rest of the design elements will remain the same as the Pixel 10 Pro.

All three devices will likely be powered by the Tensor G5 chip which should be manufactured by TSMC. This would result in a major performance boost considering the previous Google chips were being manufactured by Samsung. Aside from that, the lineup should also consist of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold whose renders are yet to be leaked. The devices may launch in August this year with Android 16 out of the box.

Jio and SpaceX Team Up for Starlink’s India Launch

Soon after Airtel announced its partnership with SpaceX for Starlink’s India launch, Reliance responded with a similar move, revealing that Jio and SpaceX have also teamed up to bring Starlink’s internet services to its customers in India.

This agreement, which is subject to SpaceX receiving its own authorizations to sell Starlink in India, enables Jio and SpaceX to explore how Starlink can extend Jio’s offerings and how Jio can complement SpaceX’s direct offerings to consumers and businesses.

Jio will make Starlink solutions available through its retail outlets as well as through its online storefronts. Through this agreement, the parties will leverage Jio’s position as the world’s largest mobile operator in terms of data traffic and Starlink’s position as the world’s leading low Earth orbit satellite constellation operator to deliver reliable broadband services across the country, including the most rural and remote regions of India.

Jio will not only sell Starlink equipment through its retail outlets but also set up a support system for customer service, installation, and activation. This partnership with SpaceX aligns with Jio’s mission to provide reliable internet access to enterprises, small and medium businesses, and communities across India. Starlink complements JioAirFiber and JioFiber by delivering high-speed internet to even the most remote locations quickly and affordably.

Jio and SpaceX are also evaluating other complementary areas of cooperation to leverage their respective infrastructure to further enhance India’s digital ecosystem, said the operator.

Airtel, in its announcement, said that by adding Starlink, (in addition to its existing alliance with Eutelsat OneWeb) to its offerings, the telco operator will further its ability to offer nationwide connectivity and connect previously underserved areas, particularly those with limited to no coverage today. With Starlink enterprise suite, Airtel will be able to offer enterprises, businesses, and communities comprehensive and seamless connectivity packages.

Airtel and SpaceX Sign an Agreement to Bring Starlink to India

First surfaced back in 2021, Elon Musk-backed Starlink is finally set to commence its services in India as Airtel and SpaceX have signed an agreement for the same. This is the first agreement to be signed in India, which is subject to SpaceX receiving its own authorizations to sell Starlink in India, said Airtel.

The partnership between the two countries enables Airtel and SpaceX to further explore how Starlink can complement and expand Airtel’s offerings, and how Airtel’s expertise in the Indian market complements SpaceX’s direct offerings to consumers and businesses, said the telecom operator.

Airtel and SpaceX will explore offering Starlink equipment in Airtel’s retail stores, Starlink services via Airtel to business customers, opportunities to connect communities, schools, and health centers, among many others, in even the most rural parts of India. Airtel and SpaceX will also explore how Starlink could help expand and enhance the Airtel network, as well as SpaceX’s ability to utilize and benefit from Airtel’s ground network infrastructure and other capabilities in India.

By adding Starlink, (in addition to its existing alliance with Eutelsat OneWeb) to its offerings, Airtel will further its ability to offer nationwide connectivity and connect previously underserved areas, particularly those with limited to no coverage today. With Starlink enterprise suite, Airtel will be able to offer enterprises, businesses, and communities comprehensive and seamless connectivity packages.

Starlink began taking pre-orders in India for a brief period nearly 4 years ago. The company started accepting a deposit fee of $99 but things didn’t move on further. For those uninitiated, Starlink provides Internet services through satellites that SpaceX launches in the orbit.

Starlink, at that time, said that users can expect to see data speeds vary from 50Mb/s to 150Mb/s and Latency from 20ms to 40ms in most locations over the next several months as the company enhances the Starlink system. There could also be brief periods of no connectivity at all. This is information from 4 years ago, which means these stats should have been improved by a lot.

iQOO Neo 10R 5G: First Impression

0

iQOO has been challenging smartphone contenders across price segments in India and the iQOO Neo 10R is its latest mid-ranger that’s supposed to give a tough fight to the likes of the Nothing Phone (3a) series and more. Here are our initial impressions of the device where we’ll find out whether it is capable of making an identity for itself at a starting price point of Rs 26,999 or not.

Starting with the in-box contents, the Neo 10R comes with a charger, a USB-C cable, instruction manuals, a ejector tool, and a transparent TPU case. The charger is a 90W brick and supports a USB-A to USB-C cable.

The design of the iQOO Neo 10R 5G will remind you of the iQOO 12 and the Moonknight Titanium shade we received for review showcases a minimal look with an arc pattern in the bottom half.

Iqoo neo 10r design

While it may not draw as much attention as a Nothing Phone (3a), it’s definitely made for those who want a premium-looking phone with a subtle design language. If you want a device that’s more eye-catchy, you can opt for the Raging Blue version.

The build is entirely polycarbonate but despite it being plastic, the device didn’t feel cheap in the hand, a complaint we had with the Neo 9 Pro 5G whose frame not only looked cheap but also felt the same way. It is also commendable how well iQOO has managed to pull of the weight distribution and has also kept the device slim despite it packing a huge battery under the hood.

Iqoo neo 10r display

The iQOO Neo 10R sports a 6.78-inch (2800 x 1260 pixels) 1.5K AMOLED 20:9 display with a 144 refresh rate, 4500 nits peak brightness, 3840 Hz PWM dimming, HDR 10+, and up to 300 Hz touch sampling rate.

In our initial testing, we found the display to be quite responsive, bright, and sharp. Moreover, there’s support for Smart Switch refresh rates that can automatically adjust the through software based on the content you are watching, but keep in mind it’s not an LTPO panel.

The in-display optical fingerprint sensor also works well in terms of accuracy and speed. It’s positioned well and detected my finger 9 out of 10 times.

The device packs the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and runs on Android 15-based FunTouch OS 15. It will receive 3 major Android OS updates and 4 years of security patches. The smartphone also houses up to 12GB LPDDR5x and up to 256GB 4.1 storage. However, the 8GB + 128GB model has UFS 3.1 storage.

Iqoo neo 10r OS screenshots

The in use has earned a strong reputation, and our initial tests confirm why. The device is fast, responsive, and delivers a pro-level gaming experience. We did find some software inconsistencies, non removable bloatware, and we’ll talk about them in detail in the full review along with the performance as well, but if you are looking for raw power or for gaming, we can already tell you the Neo 10R 5G will serve you well.

Iqoo neo 10r full rear

The device is backed up by a 6400mAh battery with 80W support. For optics, there’s a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor paired with an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor. On the front, there’s a 32MP f/2.45 selfie sensor. A camera review of the iQOO Neo 10R 5G is already live where we tested these in detail.

We’ll test the battery in the full review but on paper, it does look promising. What’s also yet to be tested are the and audio, which will also be discussed later.

To address the question we posed earlier, the iQOO Neo 10R 5G performs well in most areas and could be a strong contender against its rivals. Stay tuned for our full review, where we’ll help you decide if it’s worth buying.

iQOO Neo 10R 5G: Gaming Review

0

Gaming has always been a focus area for iQOO where the brand specifically provides gaming-centric features in its devices that’ll appeal to the growing gaming community in India. The brand’s latest iQOO Neo 10R 5G is no different, where the device brings a host of features tailored for gamers, and paired with a high-end premium processor, the gaming experience on the device should be a breeze. Here in the iQOO Neo 10R 5G gaming review, we’ll find out whether the device stands up to a gamer’s expectations.

The iQOO Neo 10R 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5x and up to 256GB of 4.1 storage. There’s also a 6043mm² vapour cooling chamber to prevent overheating. These specs are definitely not low-end and are meant for gamers.

iQOO has taken advantage of the powerful chip to provide a full-fledged gaming experience through its Ultra Game Mode. Accessible via the Settings app, Ultra Game Mode packs features like a game sidebar and view enhancement that can enhance game picture through local tone mapping, memory colour protection, detail sharpening, and colour enhancement.

iQOO Neo 10R 5G Ultra Game Mode

Then there’s an Esports mode that fires up the cores to optimize the performance through adaptive refresh rate and temperature. Off-screen autoplay allows the games to run in the background even if the screen is off. 4D game vibration is also supported in certain games where the device can vibrate in sync with the on-screen action, such as when firing bullets in a shooter game. Game-specific sound quality and effects are also present.

There’s also a feature called frame rate priority that can reduce the of the game in exchange for a smoother and more stable frame rate. Other usual features like brightness lock, block notifications, mute calls, Game PiP, and screen mistouch prevention are also present for an uninterrupted gaming experience.

iQOO Neo 10R Game sidebar

When you add a game in the Ultra Game Mode, the device then optimises itself for gaming whenever a game boots up and it also shows that through pop-ups. You can then access the Game sidebar from the left screen by swiping inwards. The sidebar consists of some features the Ultra Game Mode doesn’t showcase, such as Motion Control where tilting or raising the device in a certain position can trigger the desired on-screen game control. The feature works neatly when it does because it requires a user to get habitual to it.

Neo 10r motion control feature

Features like eye protection and record screen can also be accessed through this sidebar. Another useful feature is the direct drive power supply where if the device is connected to a charger while you are gaming, you can turn this feature on so the power is directed to the instead of the battery which prevents the extra load on the battery and also the device from overheating.

Neo 10R 5G Performance panel

Then the sidebar can also be used to access the Performance panel, where metrics like game duration, current FPS, current CPU and speeds, and the battery remaining are shown. You can also use this menu to set the refresh rate within the game, switch to Wi-Fi or quickly, and set the touch sampling rate as well.

In terms of features, the iQOO Neo 10R 5G delivers a solid experience. It offers plenty of customization options for gamers to tailor their gameplay, ensuring a satisfying experience without any major drawbacks.

Speaking of performance, the iQOO Neo 10R 5G delivered in this area as well, for the most part. Games like Call of Duty Warzone worked well but not the best. In Warzone, I could notice multiple frame drops, excessive heating, a frozen Game sidebar, and more, during the gameplay. Within the graphics section, Call of Duty Warzone could run at a Medium visual quality at best, with high resolution, upscaling quality, and shadow quality. The option for ”Peak” visual quality remained unavailable. Because the game itself is known for its poor optimisation, I tried the regular Call of Duty Mobile as well.

Neo 10R super touch control

The regular version performed significantly better, offering flagship-level graphics options such as “Very High” in Quality and “Max” in FPS. Frame rates remained stable, thermals were well-managed compared to Warzone, and the touch response was highly responsive, making for an excellent gaming experience.

Neo 10R game sound effects
Neo 10R sound effect enhancement in gaming

Coming to Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), this was the game that offered the ultimate experience as it supported most of the gaming features available in the Neo 10R. It supported the Game Sound effects feature where you can increase the intensity of certain game sounds such as Bass, vocals, footstep sounds, surround sound, and sound field as well. It also supports features like Super Touch Control for better control response, along with Control Adjustment as well where you can set the sensitivity of metrics like Taps, swipes, micro controls, and gyroscope, ranging from Lowest to Highest.

Neo 10R control adjustment feature

These features did make a huge difference in real-world gameplay and also allowed for an advantage over other players. The gameplay in BGMI was extremely smooth with no noticeable frame drops or excessive heating.

Games like RL Sideswipe and Bullet Echo worked well too. A high touch sampling rate is highly recommended for such games and the iQOO Neo 10R 5G delivered. Frame rates in these games had to remain stable considering they aren’t as CPU or GPU-intensive as the Call of Duty and BGMI titles.

Overall, we’d say the iQOO Neo 10R 5G is an excellent option if you are looking for a smartphone to game on. It not only has a capable chipset but a huge battery and a whole lot of gaming features to further aid in providing a well-rounded gaming experience. We have already shared our initial impressions and a camera review of the device while a fully detailed review of the Neo 10R 5G is in the works so stay tuned for that.

iQOO Neo 10R 5G Camera Review: Does it Deliver?

0

iQOO Neo 10R 5G has been launched in India starting at Rs 26,999 and while it is a performance-centric device, it sports a practical camera setup, too. The iQOO Neo 10R 5G camera system consists of a 50-megapixel f/1.8 Sony IMX882 primary sensor with OIS and an 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide angle lens. For selfies, the handset houses a 32-megapixel f/2.45 selfie camera. Do these camera deliver or are they forgettable? We’ll find that out in our iQOO Neo 10R 5G camera review.

Iqoo neo 10r camera app

The camera remains easy to use with multiple features and modes on offer. Modes like fisheye, Supermoon, Pro, Panorama, long exposure, slo-mo, etc., are all available for users to explore. Features like real-time effects remastering, HDR, night mode, etc., allow customisation of the colour tone of the photo.

Iqoo Neo 10R regular outdoor
Iqoo Neo 10R zoomed shot

Outdoor shots from the main sensor sport a good amount of detail while the dynamic range is handled well. Even if you zoom in, the shots don’t lose out on detail which is something to appreciate. The exposure levels are handled nicely while the colours maintain their natural look instead of opting for a more vibrant look. However, the camera app does sport options where you can change the mode and opt for vivid, textured, or the natural tone.

Iqoo Neo 10R ultra-wide angle shot
Ultra-wide angle shot

Ultra-wide angle photos from the iQOO Neo 10R 5G camera setup come out to be impressive if we talk of colours. That’s because the colour shift in photos compared to shots from the main sensor is contained nicely. This allows for a consistent look in shots when shooting the same scene from both ultra-wide angle and primary sensors. However, if you zoom in, you will notice that the ultra-wide angle shots look softer and lack proper detailing.

Iqoo neo 10R zoom ranges

Neo 10R 10x zoom shot
10x

The device can digitally zoom in at up to 10x but such shots are barely usable as they contain a good amount of noise and lack details also.

Iqoo Neo 10R Portrait shot

Portrait shots on the other hand are nicely handled with the bokeh effect looking natural and detection being accurate. If there’s enough light when shooting portraits, the detailing in the shot is also quite high.

Iqoo Neo 10R night mode

Coming to pictures shot in low-light, the camera does struggle with details but tries its best to maintain the colours. With enabled, the exposure levels crank up so the shot is better visible but it doesn’t largely affect the detailing.

Iqoo Neo 10R artificial light shot

As for photos shot in artificial lighting, they are once again excellent when it comes to colours or the overall details. The dynamic range is kept in check while the look of the overall shot won’t disappoint you.

Neo 10R 5G outdoor selfie
Iqoo Neo 10R low light selfie
Low-light Selfie

Selfies aren’t the device’s forte and that shows. The skin tones are off and the photos from the front sensor look soft. While in portrait, the edge detection is sharp, the handling of the colours and the skin tones could be improved. In low-light scenes, the situation worsens as the photos become even more softer.

To sum up, the iQOO Neo 10R 5G camera setup has its ups and downs. While it is decent for casual photography and gives pleasant results in ample lighting conditions, it’s not made for those who are looking for a camera-centric device that can perform well in any type of lighting environment. Our first impressions and gaming review of the iQOO Neo 10R 5G are also live so don’t forget to check them out, while a detailed review is also in the works.
