Top 5 Cheapest Countries to Buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 was unveiled earlier this month and is about to go on sale globally. If you are looking forward to purchase the newest foldable from Samsung and plan on saving some money on one of the most expensive smartphones made by Samsung, we have listed out the top 5 countries to buy the Galaxy Z Fold 6 from. Before we begin, we can tell you that India is not on this list and it will be justified later in the article where you’ll see a comparison of the starting price of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in the cheapest countries versus its India price.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: India Prices

Z fold 6 cheapest

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is available in three models including 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 12GB + 1TB, priced at Rs 1,64,999, Rs 1,76,999, and Rs 2,00,999, respectively, in India.

To find out the regions selling the device at the cheapest, we compared the pricing of the device at Samsung online stores of India and other regions. As a result, we were able to compile a list of the cheapest countries to buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 which include:

Malaysia

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 starts at MYR 7299 in Malaysia while the top-end 1TB variant costs MYR 9,099. MYR 7299 converts to approximately Rs 1,30,000 while MYR 9,099 converts to around Rs 1,63,000. Interestingly, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 starts at Rs 1,65,000 in India in comparison to which even the top-end variant of the Fold 6 costs less in Malaysia. Moreover, there’s a steep difference of Rs 35,000 in the starting price of the foldable when comparing the Malaysian and Indian pricing of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Japan

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 costs 2,49,800 Yen in Japan for the base model and 3,03,800 for the top-end 1TB variant. These prices aren’t far off from Malaysia’s prices of the Z Fold 6, as the pricing of the base model of the Fold 6 in Japan converts to approximately Rs 1,35,200 while that of the top-end model converts to about Rs 1,64,400. The situation is similar to Malaysia’s where the top-end model of the Fold 6 in Japan costs about the same as the base model of the foldable in India.

South Korea

Samsung’s home country is also in the list of cheapest countries where you can buy the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The device has a starting price of 22,29,700 Korean Won which converts to approximately Rs 1,34,800 while the top-end model costs 27,04,900 Korean Won which converts to approximately Rs 1,63,500. Again, the pricing of the Z Fold 6 in Samsung’s home market is significantly cheaper than that of the Indian market.

Phillipines

In Phillipines, the Z Fold 6 starts at PHP 1,05,990 which converts to Rs 1,51,700 while the 1TB model costs PHP 1,30,990 which converts to around Rs 1,87,500. The price difference isn’t as significant as the top 3 countries but it is still cheaper by up to Rs 13,000 when compared to the cost of the foldable in India.

Hong Kong

Finally, the Hong Kong is the fifth cheapest country to buy the Z Fold 6 from, with a starting price of HKD 14,398 converting to Rs 1,54,300 while it ends at HKD 17,398 which converts to approximately Rs 1,86,500. There are differences of up to Rs 15,000 between the Hong Kong and Indian pricing of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

These were the top 5 cheapest countries to buy the Galaxy Z Fold 6 from. However, do keep in mind that you’ll be getting country-specific warranty for the device as Samsung doesn’t offer global warranty like Apple does. Moreover, do note that importing the device to India from the specified countries might not be the best way to purchase them, but getting them in the country itself if you are visiting these regions or having a relative or a friend purchase the device within the country and get it to you would be a better idea.

Meta AI Gains Hindi Language Support, Creative Tools Also Announced

0

Meta was launched earlier this year in a bid to compete with the likes of OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini. Meta is now rolling out new updates to its AI-based chatbot making it multilingual as it now supports new languages including Hindi. Aside from that, Meta AI creative tools have also been announced.

Meta AI is now available in 22 countries, with added support for regions like Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Cameroon. You can now also interact with Meta AI across WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Facebook in new languages: French, German, Hindi, Hindi-Romanized Script, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish with more to come.

Meta AI Creative Tools

Meta AI Creative tools

A new set of creative tools are also rolling out to Meta AI, including the new “Imagine Me” prompts. Imagine yourself creates images based on a photo of you and a prompt like ‘Imagine me surfing’ or ‘Imagine me on a beach vacation’ using Meta’s new personalisation model.

One can simply type “Imagine me” in their Meta AI chat to get started, and then they can add a prompt like “Imagine me as royalty” or “Imagine me in a surrealist painting.” From there, one can also share the images with friends and family. The feature is rolling out in Beta in the US only as of now.

With new creative editing capabilities, you can easily add or remove objects, change them and edit them — adjusting what you want while keeping the rest of the image as it was. For instance, one could say “Imagine a cat snorkeling in a goldfish bowl” and then decide you want it to be a corgi, where you can give the AI a new prompt such as “Change the cat to a corgi” to adjust the image. And next month, you’ll see the addition of an Edit with AI button that you can use to fine tune your imagined images even further.

Next up, Meta is starting to roll out the ability for you to create an image right within your Facebook feed, stories, comments and messages across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp — anywhere Meta AI is available in English starting this week. And soon you’ll be able to do this in more places across Meta apps and in more languages as well.

The new model brings improved reasoning capabilities making it possible for Meta AI to understand and answer your more complex questions, especially on the topics of math and coding.

You can get help on your math homework with step-by-step explanations and feedback, write code faster with debugging support and optimization suggestions, and master complex technical and scientific concepts with expert instruction.

In addition, you can combine Meta AI’s coding expertise and image generation capabilities to build a new game from scratch or put a fresh spin on a classic title.

Meta AI Coming to Meta Quest

Meta AI will begin rolling out to Meta Quest starting next month in the US and Canada in experimental mode. Meta AI will replace the current on Quest, allowing you to control your headset hands-free, get answers to questions, stay up to date with real-time information, check the weather and more. You can also use Meta AI with Vision in Passthrough to ask questions about things you see in your physical surroundings.

Google TV Discontinues Purchase of TV Shows on All Platforms

0

Google TV has been allowing purchase of TV shows on all the platforms it’s available, such as Google TV OS, TV OS, and the Google TV on Android devices. With the latest update, you can no longer purchase TV shows from Google TV on all these platforms but instead use YouTube for your purchases across devices.

”We are making some changes to how you purchase TV shows from Google TV,” Google said on one of its support pages. It confirmed that these changes do not affect access to your previously purchased TV shows or the ability to continue to purchase or rent movies. In addition, it said that you will no longer be able to purchase TV episodes and seasons from Google TV on Google TV devices, Android TV devices, and the Google TV Mobile app.

You can continue to purchase TV shows from YouTube depending on country availability. However, as mentioned, you’ll still be able to access all of your previously purchased movies and TV shows (including active rentals and entire TV seasons, regardless of where the purchase was made) on Google TV devices, Android TV devices, the Google TV mobile app for Android and the app, and YouTube. In other words, these will remain in sync for your existing purchases.

However, moving forward, “any TV shows purchased on YouTube after today will only be accessible through the YouTube app or on YouTube,” said Google. Google further confirmed to 9to5Google that the change won’t be affecting Films, means one can still make purchases of various movies on Google TV and it will accessible to them on all platforms.

The ability to buy TV Shows on YouTube isn’t new, but is now only limited to it whereas previously, it was available on Google TV across devices as well.

Samsung Acts on User Feedback, Pauses Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Shipments

Samsung has announced a temporary suspension of shipments for its newly released Galaxy Buds 3 Pro wireless headphones. This decision follows reports from early users who experienced issues with the silicone ear tips, which are prone to damage during removal.

Android Authority reported that Samsung confirmed a temporary halt in deliveries to distribution channels until the issue is resolved. “To ensure all products meet our quality standards, we have temporarily suspended deliveries of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro devices to distribution channels to conduct a full quality control evaluation before shipments to consumers take place. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” Samsung stated to Authority.

Samsung also advised consumers who already possess the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and encounter problems to contact or visit their nearest Samsung Service Centre.

The third-generation Galaxy Buds feature a new design, including a stem and a redesigned cover. Some early users have reported product quality issues. According to The Verge, Samsung has attached the soft silicon ear tips to the buds using a hard plastic ring. Sony ULT Tower 10 Review: New King In The World of Tower Speakers

0

The ULT series is part of Sony’s new line of revamped audio products, aiming to improve and refine sound quality. This series includes the ULT Tower 10, ULT Field 7, ULT Field 1, and the ULT Wear.

The ULT Tower 10 is priced at Rs 89,990 and is positioned as a flagship product in this lineup. This review will delve into its specifics, assessing whether it lives up to its promise of delivering top-tier sound and performance.

Inside the Box

The ULT Tower 10 arrives in a massive shipping box. The packaging is designed to ensure the speaker is well-protected during transit. The speaker is wrapped around with foam inside, and a large plastic bag covers the unit. Along with the speaker, the box includes:

  • Power cord
  • Wireless microphone
  • Optical audio cable
  • Quick setup guide
  • Manual

The speaker feels robust and well-made, reflecting its substantial weight and high-quality construction.

Design and Build Quality

Standing at 43.3 by 16.5 by 16.9 inches (HWD) and weighing 30kg, the ULT Tower 10 is a large and imposing speaker. Sony has incorporated features like a handle on the top and wheels on the rear edge, making it easier to move despite its weight. However, manoeuvring the small wheels across uneven surfaces can be challenging.

We have many smartphones with unibody designs; similarly, in ULT Tower 10, the entire unit is made of black plastic. Hidden LEDs provide subtle lighting effects, enhancing the speaker’s aesthetic without being overwhelming, especially when you in a party mood. The speaker configuration includes two small tweeters, two midrange drivers, and a large 12.59-inch square-shaped woofer, covering a range of 20Hz to 20kHz and delivering up to 1,000W of power.

Top Panel

The top panel of the ULT Tower 10 houses most of the controls needed for operation. A large power button is located in the front left corner, while an equally large Sony ULT button is in the front right. Above these buttons are two rows of light-up, capacitive buttons for playback and functions.

ULT TOWER 10 features

The first row includes controls for pairing, input selection, playback, and volume adjustment. The second row features a toggle for the light show, dedicated buttons for each colour option, and a multicolour mode. Additionally, a pitch control tool and an Echo button for karaoke are located near the top of the panel.

The top surface also includes a large slot to accommodate phones or tablets and a removable hatch that protects the guitar input jack and volume knob.

Features and Connectivity

Tower 10 boasts of “360-degree Party Sound and 360-degree Party Light.” This means that you can press the Ult Tower Sound button to change the sound mix, and the speaker comes with built-in lighting that synchronises with whatever you are playing.

Well, coming to the connectivity options, the speaker includes a USB-A port for high-quality playback and external device charging, an optical port for connecting to a TV or other devices, and a 3.5mm stereo jack for almost any audio source.

ULT TOWER 10

For wireless connectivity, the ULT Tower 10 supports Bluetooth 5.2 and the AAC, SBC, and LDAC codecs. Users can enable LDAC in the settings of their playback devices for higher-quality playback. The speaker also offers Google Fast Pair and multipoint connections, making connecting multiple devices easy.

Karaoke Functionality

Karaoke enthusiasts will appreciate the included wireless microphone. Once the batteries are inserted, the microphone pairs seamlessly with the ULT Tower 10, allowing users to sing along with their favourite tunes. Sony has also included pop-out mic holders on each speaker’s side to keep the microphones organised and easily accessible.

Setup

Setting up the ULT Tower 10 is straightforward and user-friendly. Simply plug the speaker into a wall outlet, turn it on, and pair it with your desired device, such as a phone, TV, or computer. The speaker pairs easily with various devices, ensuring reliable connectivity. Additionally, the optical cable can be used to connect the speaker to a TV, transforming it into a powerful soundbar for an immersive home theatre experience.

Users can install the Sony Music Center to maximise the speaker’s capabilities. This app provides control over the speaker, including a full equaliser with presets and customisable settings. The app enhances the user experience by allowing precise adjustments to the audio output. However, I felt that a dedicated remote control could also have been bundled with the speaker for using the features on the control panel and maybe for using select features available in the app.

Audio Quality

The ULT Tower 10 delivers impressive audio performance, suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings. Inside a typical 1,500 to 2,000-square-foot flat in cosmopolitan India, the speaker’s volume can be overwhelming, with every room vibrating to the beat. The sound profile is bass-focused but maintains clarity, ensuring that all frequencies are well-represented. The app’s seven-band EQ allows for sound customisation, and the ULT functions enhance the listening experience by boosting the low-pass range and overall power. When connected to the TV, the audio experience, especially when watching sporting events.

During our testing, we also connected the ULT Tower 10 to our projector to watch the India T20 Cricket Cup Final match in my society’s clubhouse. The audio created an electrifying atmosphere that was loud enough to feel like we were in the stadium.

In various tests, the speaker performed well across different music genres. For example, Punjabi numbers showcased the speaker’s powerful bass without distortion. Panjaj Uddas’s gazals highlighted the clarity of vocals and instrumental separation, making it feel like a live performance. Since I don’t have a guitar, I couldn’t test how it performs when attached to ULT Tower 10.

Intel Identifies Issue Crashing Core 13th and 14th Gen Processors

Intel Corp announced on Monday that it has identified the source of the instability issues plaguing its 13th and 14th Generation Core processors. The company confirmed that the instability is due to “elevated operating voltage” and that a microcode patch is forthcoming.

Intel’s Thomas Hannaford stated on the company’s forum, “We have determined that elevated operating voltage is causing instability issues in some 13th/14th Gen desktop processors. Our analysis of returned processors confirms that the elevated operating voltage is stemming from a microcode algorithm resulting in incorrect voltage requests to the processor.”

The company is working to release a microcode patch for motherboard manufacturers by mid-August. In the interim, affected users are advised to contact Intel support for assistance. This issue first came to light in April when owners of Intel Core i9-13900K and i9-14900K processors reported frequent game crashes and system instability.

Intel’s upcoming microcode patch aims to correct the voltage requests being sent to the processors, thereby stabilizing the operating conditions. This patch will be distributed through motherboard manufacturers, who will integrate the update into their BIOS releases. Users will need to update their BIOS to apply the fix.

Further complicating matters, Intel has faced scrutiny over the potential long-term impacts of the voltage issues on the affected processors’ lifespan. Elevated operating voltages can accelerate wear and tear on the components, potentially shortening their operational life. Intel has yet to comment on whether the patch will address any potential long-term damage or if additional measures will be necessary.

Upcoming Apple iPhone SE 4 Could See Price Increase to $500

Apple is reportedly working on a new model of the iPhone SE, which is expected to be released in the first half of 2024. The fourth-generation iPhone SE is anticipated to feature several significant upgrades, including a design similar to the iPhone 14, a 6.1-inch LTPO display, and the inclusion of for the first time in the SE series.

The iPhone SE 4 might be powered by the A16 Bionic chip, coupled with Apple’s in-house modem. This will only support sub-6GHz 5G frequencies rather than the faster mmWave spectrum. This modem has been produced using a 4nm process, marking a notable step in Apple’s efforts to reduce reliance on Qualcomm for its components.

In terms of design, the SE 4 is expected to adopt the same rear chassis manufacturing process as the upcoming iPhone 16, indicating a robust and updated build. The device is rumoured to feature a 48-megapixel main camera and will likely come with a charging port, aligning with recent European Union regulations on universal charging standards .
The new SE might also introduce an Action Button, similar to that found in the iPhone 15 Pro models, which could enhance user interaction by providing customizable functions. Additionally, the phone will run on iOS 18, which is expected to bring advanced features.

However, this new model could come at a higher price point. Media reports suggest that the iPhone SE 4 might be priced around $500, a noticeable increase from the $429 starting price of the iPhone SE 3. This potential price hike reflects the significant upgrades and new features expected in the upcoming model .

It should be noted that Apple has not officially confirmed any specifics about the iPhone SE 4. As the release date approaches, more concrete details will likely emerge.
