Delhivery is Adopting Truecaller Verified Business Caller ID

Delhivery, which serves over 33,000+ businesses ranging from top brands such as Nykaa and Flipkart to Micro SMEs, has adopted the Truecaller Verified Business Caller ID solution to address the everyday challenges of missed and rejected calls due to a lack of trust and context. This strategic move ensures Delhivery can provide its users with a trusted, seamless, and secure communication experience.

Delhivery adopting Truecaller Verified Business Caller ID is a big deal for consumers, where Truecaller users will now be easily able to identify whether they are getting a genuine call from Delhivery or a spammer is trying to contact them. Truecaller Verified Business Caller ID enhances brand elements like company name, logo, category name, and verification tick to help customers identify the call.

“This builds trust and assures confidence while communicating with Delhivery. This is especially crucial given Delhivery’s role in logistics for major brands, where each interaction needs to be transparent for the customer”, said the company in a press release.

Delhivery leverages Truecaller’s Call Reason capability as well, which adds more context to their calls by displaying the purpose of the call beforehand by using Truecaller’s dynamic APIs to personalize call reasons for each delivery request. This customization is essential for Delhivery, given its role as the logistics partner for multiple major brands, ensuring that each communication is personalized and transparent to the end customer.

The Verified Business Caller ID solution enhances business call efficiency and significantly reduces phone call-related frauds and scams, promoting customer safety in business communications.

Meanwhile, Truecaller recently also launched its Wear OS app. With Trucaller on your wrist, you can identify callers and manage your calls without reaching your phone. You can also reject or silence calls, all from your wrist. The app also allows you to browse through recent calls and view contact details with just a glance at your smartwatch.

Google for India 2024: Gemini Live to Roll Out in Hindi, and Other Major Announcements

0

Google just concluded its Google for India 2024 annual event where it made a bunch of new announcements woth regards to AI, tailored specifically for Indian consumers and businesses. These include Gemini Live in 9 new Indian languages, AI overviews in new Indian languages, and much more.

Gemini Live in 9 new languages

The Gemini mobile app, your AI assistant from Google, is helping users in India tackle a wide range of tasks – from academic help and creative inspiration to understanding complex information, according to Google. Gemini Live, the feature that allows for two-way voice communication with Gemini, responds in real-time, adapts to your conversation style, and allows you to interrupt, ask follow-up questions, or come back later.

Starting today, Google is rolling out Gemini Live in Hindi, with 8 more Indian languages — Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu — to follow in the coming weeks.

AI Overviews in new languages

Google has noted in the past that people prefer using Search with AI Overviews, and they find their search results more helpful. Google has seen that Indian users listen to AI Overviews responses more often than other countries. Currently available in English and Hindi, in the coming weeks, you’ll also get helpful AI Overviews in Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, and Marathi.

Google Lens video input support

Soon, you will be able to use Google Lens to search with a video and ask more complex questions about things in motion. Google also explained how this will work with an example, where it said, “Imagine you’re cooking, and the pressure cooker whistle isn’t working properly. Open Lens in the Google app, hold on the shutter button to record a video of it while asking out loud, “How do I fix this?” Our custom Gemini model will make sense of the video and provide a helpful AI Overview with links to learn more.” This capability will soon be available for Search Labs users enrolled in the “AI Overviews and more” experiment, with support for mobile English queries.

AI in Google Maps

Starting to roll out later this month in India, Maps will show you helpful summaries about the restaurant, leveraging Google’s Gemini model which analyzes Maps’ billions of reviews – so you can understand at a glance what people are saying about it, and quickly decide if that restaurant is right for you.

Google Maps now allows users to search for not just places, but also specific items and experiences. Whether you’re searching for themed birthday cakes or discovering unique picnic spots, AI-powered image recognition analyzes billions of photos shared by the Google Maps community to provide relevant, image-driven results and an interactive map for visual exploration.

AI for Small and Medium Sized Businesses in India

New AI tools in Product Studio in Google Merchant Center have also been introduced, which will help businesses showcase products more creatively to shoppers. Image-to-Video Animation transforms photos into appealing videos. Businesses can even create visuals that match their unique brand style by uploading an image that represents their aesthetic.

By linking their social accounts through their Google Business Profile, businesses can also showcase deals from their social media posts, alongside deals from popular aggregators like Zomato, Swiggy, EazyDiner, and MagicPin. Google will further build on this feature in the near future.

Next, through the Google Merchant Center, businesses can now offer chat options via or WhatsApp right from their Search listings, making it easier to connect with customers. India is one of the first markets where Google will roll this out with a select set of merchants, and it will work to expand to all businesses in the coming months.

Google Pay partners with Muthoot Finance and Aditya Birla Finance Limited

Google Pay’s AI-powered support guide can now answer users’ questions about repayment cycles, eligibility criteria, EMIs and much more, while providing a link to the relevant, detailed terms and conditions.

Google is also adding Aditya Birla Finance Limited to the portfolio of credit providers on Google Pay, giving users a wider range of credit products to choose from, to meet their individual needs.

Further, it is partnering with Muthoot Finance for facilitating gold-backed loans to Google Pay, unlocking a valuable credit option for millions, particularly in rural India. This collaboration opens up an avenue to mobilize their latent gold assets, at affordable interest rates and with greater flexibility to chart a course for their futures through education, business or anything else.

ABHA Health ID Cards in Google Wallet

Google is also working to support the Government of India’s Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) that is being implemented by the National Health Authority. Starting next year, ABHA health ID cards, which enables people to store, share and receive digital health information seamlessly with healthcare groups across the country, will be accessible on Google Wallet in partnership with Eka Care. To ensure privacy, ABHA ID holders will need to authenticate their devices with a fingerprint, PIN, or passcode to add or access their ABHA ID in Google Wallet.

To better protect users from financial fraud, Google is piloting enhanced fraud protection within Google Play Protect in India. The company will establish a new Google Safety Engineering Center (GSEC) in India in 2025. The center will tackle online threats by combining the expertise of Google’s safety engineers, local policy experts, and government partners; focusing on combating scams and fraud, bolstering security for businesses and government, and advancing research in online safety.

Partnership with Adani Energy and CleanMax

At Google for India 2024, the company announced two new clean energy partnerships in India that will add 186 megawatts of renewable power to the grid. It is partnering with CleanMax to harness wind and solar power in Karnataka and Rajasthan, and with Adani Energy for a new solar-wind hybrid plant in Gujarat. “These projects will support Google’s offices and cloud infrastructure while contributing to India’s clean energy goals,” says Google.

Google’s Gmail is Getting New Summary Cards With a “Happening Soon” Section Alongside

0

Google’s Gmail is getting new Summary cards in its on mobile. Summary Cards have long provided a snippet of helpful information at the top of your emails. Aside from the Summary Cards, a new “Happening Soon” section is also being added in the Gmail app.

As Gmail is getting new summary cards, Google is also updating the look of these cards. They are getting a whole new look across purchases, events, bills and travel emails. They’ll also offer new action buttons, like adding an event to your Calendar and inviting others or setting a bill payment reminder.

Gmail is getting new summary cards

Summary cards are also becoming more powerful on the backend, organizing key information from across all related emails and updating in real-time, so you’ll always know when to expect deliveries. Google is also introducing summary cards in more places within Gmail, like a new “Happening soon” section of your inbox and in Gmail search.

The new Summary Cards are being added to the following email categories:

  • Purchases: Track packages, view order details and easily find what you bought.
  • Events: See or add upcoming events to your calendar, invite others or find directions with ease.
  • Bills: View and pay bills, or get reminded to pay later and add a due date in Google Tasks.
  • Travel: Manage reservations, check in for flights and view important travel details like the hotel’s check-out time so you can travel with confidence from booking to boarding.

For users to get the most timely updates without even needing to open individual emails, Google has added a new “Happening soon” section at the top of inboxes. To start, purchase summary cards will appear here, and this section will only show up when it’s relevant.

For example, once the estimated delivery date of a purchase is two days away, “Happening soon” will show the purchase summary card, allowing you to see when your package is arriving at a glance. If you have multiple deliveries arriving in the same timeframe, the summary cards are stacked, and you can expand, dismiss or click to go directly to the related email.

Updated purchase summary cards are now rolling out for individual emails on and iOS, with event, bill, and travel summary cards and “Happening soon” following in the coming months. In the future, all four card categories will show across individual emails, in the “Happening soon” section and in Gmail search.

If price is the only parameter you are considering when purchasing the iPhone, then we think you should consider buying it from Flipkart. On Flipkart, the iPhone 15 sells for Rs 57,999 while the 15 Plus sells for Rs 66,999. However, in the Apple Store’s case, you get a few more additional options while buying the iPhone, such as free engraving and a slightly better trade-in value for your older phone than Flipkart’s exchange offer. Galaxy S24 FE’s Exynos 2400e Benchmark Scores Highlight Major Upgrade Over Galaxy S23 FE

0

Samsung debuted the Galaxy S24 FE a few days ago worldwide while the device is set to go on sale soon. The chip used in the handset is a watered down model of Exynos 2400 used in the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+. Now, the Exynos 2400e benchmark scores have surfaced online, highlighting how big of an upgrade the Galaxy S24 FE is over its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 FE.

As reported by GSMArena, the Exynos 2400e in the Galaxy S24 FE packs a prime Cortex-X4 core that is clocked at up to 3.1GHz instead of the 3.2GHz which the regular Exynos 2400 chip does. However, the other clusters are the same, including 2x Cortex-A720 cores running at 2.90GHz, 3x A720 cores running at 2.59GHz and 4x A520 cores running at 1.96GHz.

The publication’s tests show that the Galaxy S24 FE’s Exynos 2400e is certainly a capable chip when it comes to competing with the flagships. Exynos 2400e benchmark scores on Geekbench 6 platform suggest that the chip is marginally weaker than the regular 2400 but is a major upgrade over the Galaxy S23 FE’s Exynos 2200. In multi-core tests, the Exynos 2400e scored 6711 points compared to 3964 points the S23 FE Exynos model scored and 6926 points scored by the Galaxy S24+.

In fact, the S24 FE scored better than the 9 Pro XL, which scored 4854 points with its Tensor G4 SoC. Coming to single-core tests, the Galaxy S24 FE scored 2146, compared to 2201 points scored by Galaxy S24+ and 1999 scored by the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The S23 FE (both Snapdragon and Exynos models) were at the bottom, with the Exynos model scoring 1672 points.

Coming over to GPU, the S24 FE did wonders and performed surprisingly well with 3870 points, coming quite close to Xiaomi 14T Pro’s Dimensity 9300+ (3998 points). The iPhone 16 Plus with the A18 chip scored 4029 points which is actually a mere 4% better score than S24 FE’s, despite there being a noticeable price gap between the two. The S23 FE Snapdragon model scored just 2557 points while the Exynos model was even lower than that, with 2356 points.

While we definitely need to review the Galaxy S24 FE and observe how well the Exynos 2400e benchmark scores translate to real-world use, we can say the device is shaping up to be a worthy contender against the flagships.

The new Quick Insert key, which the Galaxy Chromebook Plus is equipped with, delivers “instant help where you need it.” With a tap of the dedicated keyboard button, a menu instantly gives you access to everything you might need from editing what you’re writing, instantly adding a URL link or quickly finding the perfect or GIF. Here are just a few examples of what you’ll find:

  • Quick access to Help me write, which uses Gemini models, so you can get help crafting new text, edit what you’ve written or change the tone
  • Emoji and GIFs to easily add to any text field
  • A list of your recently opened websites, to add links without searching, copying and pasting between windows
  • Google Drive integrated search so you can attach files, photos, videos or anything from your Google Drive, while staying within your work flow

The Quick Insert key launches exclusively on the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus. However, existing Chromebook users can use the feature with a keyboard shortcut. Starting next year, the key will become available across more Chromebook and Chromebook Plus laptops, along with the ability to quickly create AI-generated images from within the Quick Insert menu.

AI Features for Chromebooks Plus

New AI features for Chromebook Plus have been added after Google announced Gemini integration in these Chromebooks earlier in May. The following AI features will become available through automatic updates throughout October.

  • Be seen and heard authentically with new video call features. The new studio-style microphone and built-in appearance enhancements take your video calls to the next level. The studio mic feature ensures crystal-clear sound with AI-powered mic simulation, effectively minimizing noise and room echo. Meanwhile, the built-in appearance effects automatically adjust lighting, brightness, and other settings to ensure you always look your best. Best of all, these features are compatible with any video calling app.
  • Accelerate understanding with Help me read. Help me read helps you summarize PDFs, articles or websites, all with a right click. You can even ask follow-up questions to dive deeper. Starting next year you can even highlight specific sentences or paragraphs you need extra help clarifying.
  • Overcome language barriers with Live Translate. Use Live Translate to enable Google AI-translated captions on whatever is on your screen, whether it’s a meeting on Zoom, a YouTube livestream or a video file a family member sends you. Live Translate can instantly translate content into over 100 languages.
  • Easily capture audio, thoughts and notes with Recorder app. Use the Google AI-powered Recorder app to create transcriptions that can detect and label speakers, and provide a summary of recorded content.

New Features for All Chromebooks

Google is also bringing new features to all Chromebooks, including Chat with Gemini which was earlier limited to Chromebook Plus laptops. Next, new Chromebook buyers can try Google’s most capable AI tools through the Google One AI Premium plan at no cost for three months. The plan includes access to Gemini Advanced, 2TB of storage and Gemini in Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail and more. You can also get access to 12 months of the Google One AI Premium plan with a new Chromebook Plus purchase.

Another new feature being introduced is called Welcome Recap. Whenever you log into your Chromebook, Welcome Recap gives a visual overview of where you last were across any device and helpful suggestions to get you started. You might get a reminder to join your next video call, quick access to a recently opened file, or a clickable suggestion to finish an article started on your or phone.

The new Focus feature can automatically turn on “Do not Disturb” in desired situations. Whether you dedicated focus time or have a specific Google Task you want to finish, choose a time period and soundscape or YouTube Music playlist, then Focus can automatically turn on “Do not Disturb” for a distraction-free experience.

Pinning feature is now also available. Users can now access files in a single click, whether they’re online or offline, by pinning them to their Chromebook’s shelf. To save even more time, Launcher even suggests the Google Docs or Slides the user may be looking for.

Recall Feature for Copilot+ PCs Coming Soon; Click to Do, Windows 11 24H2 Update and More Announced

0

Microsoft announced a revamped Copilot experience earlier yesterday, alongside which it revealed that Recall feature for Copilot+ PCs will rollout later this month to Windows Insiders. Furthermore, Microsoft also announced new features like Click to Do, improved Windows search, and more.

Announced via a blog post, Microsoft said that the Recall feature for Copilot+ PCs will begin rolling out to later this month to those who have a Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ laptop and are a part of the Windows 11 Insider program. Customers who purchase an Intel- or AMD- powered Copilot+ PC will see Recall initially in the Windows Insider program starting in November.  Timing details on the broad availability of Recall will be shared at a later date.

Recall is an entirely new way to instantly find something you’ve previously seen on your PC. Following the announcement of the feature in May, there was a backlash from consumers regarding the privacy concerns related to the feature. As a result, Microsoft listened to the community emphasizing the need for additional default security layers.

Now, users will have the choice to opt-in to saving snapshots and if they do opt-in, they will use Windows Hello to confirm presence and securely unlock the Recall experience. And with the sensitive information filter, Recall will apply filters over sensitive information when highly confidential data, like credit card details or personal identification numbers, needs to stay confidential.

Meanwhile, the company also announced Click to Do, a feature designed to help simplify your workflow by placing an interactive overlay on top of your PC screen, enabling suggested quick actions to appear over images or text. At your request, Click to Do seamlessly connects you to tools and actions to accomplish tasks, like suggesting help with Visual Search with Bing, background blur or erasing objects in Photos, removing backgrounds with Paint, and more.

It also assists with text-related actions such as rewrite, summarize or explain text in line, opening in a text editor, sending an email (with a recognized email address), web searches, and opening websites (with a recognized URL). Click to Do is context-aware, and accessible from any Copilot+ PC screen – simply press the Windows key and click your mouse to find Click to Do in Snipping Tool or Print Screen to get started. With a strong emphasis on boosting productivity, customers can expect a range of new rich actions to be introduced over the coming months.

The improved Windows search will also leverage AI, where users no longer need to remember file names, settings locations or even worry about spelling, so they can just type what’s in their mind to find the correct file on a Copilot+ PC. You can even find photos in OneDrive by describing the content in the same way. Interestingly, the feature works even when you’re not connected to the internet. Improved search will be available first with File Explorer and expanding to Windows Search and Settings in the coming months.

Next, there’s Super feature in the Photos app. Using on-device AI, super resolution in Photos will transform your old or lower-quality images into reimagined memories. One can use the slider to increase the resolution of any photo by up to 8X, and precisely control and adjust the output. With the power of the 40+ TOPS NPU, super resolution in photos can upscale a photo up to within seconds, for free.

Next up, there’s Generative fill and erase in Paint, where you can edit and alter images with greater precision and creative freedom. Using an adjustable brush, you can remove unwanted or distracting elements in your image or add new ones, exactly where you want them. Microsoft has also improved the underlying diffusion-based model to deliver better results faster, along with built-in moderation.

Microsoft also announced the apps that will soon gain native support for Copilot+ PCs, such as Vegas Pro, Fantastical, Sketchbook Pro, Arc Browser, Google Drive, NordVPN, and more.

Windows 11 24H2 Update

Finally, starting today, the Windows 11, version 24H2 update also begins to roll out to Windows 11 customers. This update includes new features like Energy Saver designed to extend battery life and reduce energy use, even when your device is plugged in. There’s improved Hearing Aid support with LE Audio, with new capabilities to control audio presets, ambient sounds and experience enhancements. 7 compatibility, HDR background support, improvements to the taskbar and system tray, File Explorer and Settings are also a part of the update.
