Oppo is a Chinese electronics manufacturer founded in 2004. The company makes smartphones, tablets, and other consumer electronics. Oppo entered the smartphone market in 2008 with its flagship device, the Oppo Find 7. The Find 7 was notable for its use of a Quad HD display and a Snapdragon 801 processor. It was also one of the first phones to offer 4G LTE connectivity. In 2014, Oppo released the N1, which was the first phone to feature a rotating camera. The company has also released several other popular devices, such as the R9 and F3.
In 2016, Oppo was ranked as the 8th largest smartphone company in the world with a market share of 6%. In China, the company has a market share of 18%. Oppo entered Indian Cyberspace with two devices in February 2014, viz. Find 5 Mini and Neo 3. India recorded a 150% growth in shipments for Oppo in the first half of 2015.
