Realme 2 starting price will be less than Rs 10,000, launching on Aug 28

We already reported that the phone will be launched in three memory variants out of which one will be meant for the budget segment. This simply means that the base model of the Realme 2 will be launched under Rs 10,000.

Realme has today announced that its latest smartphone, the Realme 2, which will be launched on August 28, will be priced under Rs 10,000 for the base variant. The company has also said that it will be exclusively available on Flipkart. We already reported that the phone will be launched in three memory variants out of which one will be meant for the budget segment.

The company has confirmed that the latest smartphone will be made in “Made for and in India”. We earlier reported that the phone will come in three colour options and the brand has today confirmed that the phone will be available in Diamond Red, Black and Blue colour options.Previously, we exclusively reported the back panel of the Realme 2 smartphone and the Diamond Blue colour option.

The company has already teased a quite of few features of the upcoming smartphone. To start with, the brand has revealed the phone will come with a notched display and there will be a 6.2-inch display, which might bear a Full (2280 x 1080 pixels). There will be a dual-camera setup at the back, which might come with a combination of 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor for creating a bokeh effect.

Madhav Sheth, Chief Executive Officer, Realme India, earlier told The Mobile Indian that the brand is looking to cater the affordable smartphone segment as the brand wants to cater to the aam aadmi (common man).

The phone will come loaded with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which might come with Snapdragon 600 series chipset. Further, there will be a 4,230mAh battery. Interestingly, the Realme 2 will come loaded with a better screen-to-body ratio as compared to its predecessor. The company has teased that the second-generation phone will feature 88.8 per cent screen-to-body ratio as compared to 75.5 per cent screen-to-body ratio found in Realme 1.
