While the Rs 998 plan is valid for 28 days, the validity of Rs 1,298 pack is 35 days with unlimited calls, SMS and data benefits.
Just days after upgrading its Movies & TV app with 400+ Live TV channels, India’s leading telecom operator Idea Cellular has come up with two new prepaid plans for those who consume high amounts of data on a daily basis. The two new plans are worth Rs 998 and Rs 1,298 and though it might deceive you for a long time plan, the two plans only have a month-long validity. The more expensive Rs 1,298 plan lasts you 35 days while the cheaper Rs 998 pack would run for 28 days which is mostly what any telecom operation has been offering these days.
Both these plans come with unlimited voice calls with SMS and data benefits though it comes with a catch. Although the plan states unlimited voice calls, Idea limits dialling to 100 different number per week with 1000 minutes to be used per week and a daily limit of 250 minutes. Additional calls will be charged as per the standard rates after a user crosses the FUP quota.
In terms of free data, the daily FUP limit is set at 5GB and 7GB for the Rs 998 and Rs 1,298 plans respectively which seem relatively low considering the validity of the packs in itself is low. This brings us to wonder what Idea is planning to do with these plans, though both of these are limited to a few circles for now. Users who are interested can also avail the Idea Magic cashback offer which will offer up to Rs 3,300 worth of benefits for the users.
The news comes just days after Aitel offered a new Rs 499 unlimited plan with unlimited calls and 40GB data. BSNL has also started offering its postpaid users with 30GB data with its Rs 399 plan while Vodafone is offering unlimited internet for an hour at Rs 21.
