Idea Cellular has announced a new prepaid plan for its prepaid customers. Dubbed as Rs 499, the plan is in direct competition with Airtel’s Rs 499 plan which was launched last month. This new Idea prepaid plan is limited to only a few circles at the moment and It can be recharged through the company’s website.
First spotted by TelecomTalk, under this pack, Idea users will get 2GB of 2G/3G/4G data per day along with unlimited voice calls on local and STD networks including national roaming. Further, the pack comes with a validity of 82 days, which makes the total data count of 164GB for the entire period. Furthermore, the unlimited voice calls come with a capping of 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. Apart from this, users will get free SMS benefits as well.
Idea Customers who use more than 250 outgoing minutes in a day will be charged at 1 paise per second for the rest of the day. And those who use more than 1000 minutes in a week will be charged at 1 paise per second for the rest of the left days in the week. Apart from this, the users can make outgoing voice calls to only 100 unique numbers in any period of seven consecutive days. After that period of time, the customers will be charged 1 paise per second for the rest of validity of recharge. Moreover, the free roaming benefit will be applicable only to Idea network.
The pack is in direct competition with Airtel’s Rs 499 plan. Under this offer, Airtel customers will get a huge 164GB of 4G data for a validity period of 82 days. It offers 2GB data per day, unlimited local/STD calls, roaming calls along with 100 SMS per day. The offer is for prepaid users only.
Airtel has today launched Rs 588 prepaid plan offering 3GB data per day. The Rs 588 plan offers 3GB of 4G/3G data per day and it comes with a validity of 82 days. So in total, you get a total of 246GB data. Apart from that, the plan also offers unlimited voice calls (local+STD), unlimited incoming roaming calls and 100 SMS per day. Recently, Airtel introduced post FUP speeds of 128Kbps for all prepaid plans, for Rs 199 and above. Airtel revealed that it will now offer 128Kbps of data speed, after the FUP (Fair Usage Policy) limit is over, taking directly on BSNL and Reliance Jio.
