BlackBerry Evolve, Evolve X official teaser released ahead of launch tomorrow

Revealed in all its glory, the teaser confirms a few things that were hinted to arrive in the Evolve lineup including a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and minimal bezels which look slick in the black-clad rear panel. There’s certainly a dual camera setup at the back which is now aligned vertically.

Just a day after it started selling the KEY2 smartphone in India, Blackberry India has now teased the upcoming Evolve and Evolve X devices which are set to be unveiled in India tomorrow as part of a global launch.

Earlier codenamed as the Ghost and Ghost Pro, the latest BlackBerry devices are being manufactured by Indian licensee Optiemus Infracom to be sold across India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. Revealed in all its glory, the teaser confirms a few things that were hinted to arrive in the Evolve lineup including a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and minimal bezels which look slick in the black-clad rear panel.

There’s certainly a dual camera setup at the back, which is BlackBerry’s second attempt at two rear but this time it’s aligned vertically like the one seen on the iPhone X. The 19-second long clip also suggests a ring-shaped fingerprint scanner at the back right above the dotted branding, which will be the first time a BlackBerry device will rock a traditionally-placed fingerprint scanner.

The BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X are thus confirmed to launch on August 2 at an event scheduled to take place at 11:00 AM IST.

Meanwhile, Optiemus recently also introduced the BlackBerry KEY2 in India with a physical keypad and a price tag of Rs 42,990 to be exclusively available on Amazon.
