Nokia Lumia Running Android OS? Here’s What We Know

0

Nokia was making Lumia smartphones for Microsoft that ran Windows Phone operating system and those were known not only for their software but their unique hardware as well. HMD, the current maker of Nokia devices, now seems to be planning to leverage the same iconic “Fabula” design used in Lumia devices, in one of their own smartphones that would run on the operating system.

An account on X that goes by the name of HMD Meme’s posted a photo of an upcoming HMD smartphone (via Nokiamob) that sports the same “Fabula” design which we saw with the Lumia 920 and more Lumia smartphones back in the day. While the source isn’t the most reliable, the renders shared look legit, based on the teaser photos we saw from HMD when it announced that it will now be making smartphones of its own.

HMD Tomcat: Lumia Running Android?

The HMD device can be seen having a frame with a boxy shape and sharp edges, while the corners of the display are curved. The chin is slightly thicker than the other bezels. It could come in four vibrant colour options, such as green, blue, yellow and pink. There may be two cameras on the back.

While it may not be called a Lumia device, it could potentially fulfil the wish of a chunk of population who wanted the iconic Nokia Lumia smartphones to run Android as Windows Phone OS was quite restricted in nature with regards to specific areas, such as customisation, support and more. The Fabula design was quite unique and quickly caught the eye of the audiences.

Apple AirTag (2nd Gen) Now Underway Testing: Report

0

Apple introduced the Airtag back in 2021, and nearly three years after launch, there has been no successor to the tracker device. Now, it seems like Apple finally thinks it’s time to replace it with its successor, and as a result, it is working on developing the Apple Airtag (2nd Gen), according to a new development.

The report that Apple AirTag (2nd Gen) is in the works comes from trusted Apple insider Mark Gurman at Bloomberg. According to Gurman, Apple is developing a next-generation AirTag codenamed B589. The item locator is reportedly being tested by Apple’s manufacturing partners in Asia.

As for what’s changed with the Apple Airtag (2nd Gen) over the first-gen device, Gurman claims that the tracker will be equipped with a better chip and improved location tracking capabilities and that’s about it, for now. If there are more changes in the second-gen product, either they are unknown at the moment, or maybe there aren’t any other than the ones mentioned, which would make it just a minor upgrade.

As for the launch timeframe, Apple plans to introduce the tracker sometime in mid-2025, which is a year away. It would be interesting to see what other changes Apple has planned for the Airtag (2nd Gen) and whether it would be worth upgrading from the first-gen product.

Meanwhile, on the Android side of things, Google recently opened up the Android Find My Devices network where more Android-based trackers are supposed to join it soon. The company, a little while back, also informed users about dedicated trackers based on this network being in works by manufacturers such as eufy, Jio, and more, which will be debuting in the coming months. Samsung also has its own Airtag competitor called Galaxy SmartTag 2 which it debuted last year.

Twitter To X: URL Transition Concludes

The social media giant formerly known as Twitter has completed its transition to ‘X’. The rebranding process culminated with the official switch of URLs from the iconic twitter.com to the succinct x.com. Users are being notified of the URL transition from Twitter to X.com via a popup while Elon Musk also posted about the same on the platform.

”All core systems are now on x.com”, said Musk in a post on X. The transformation began months ago when Twitter changed its official handle to @x, signalling the start of a comprehensive rebranding initiative. This change was part of a broader strategy to pivot the platform towards a variety of new services, including payments and gaming, as announced by tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, who acquired the company in a highly leveraged deal.

The message being shown to users to make them aware of the transition of URL from Twitter to X.com says,”We are letting you know that we are changing our URL, but your privacy and data protection settings remain the same. For more details, see our Privacy Policy: https://x.com/en/privacy”.

Musk has called X as the ‘everything app’ in the past and wants to introduce more features in it with due course of time. The rebranding to X, when announced, was met with mixed reactions, with some users expressing disapproval of the sams. Despite the initial surprise, the transition has been methodically executed, with the company’s other official handles, such as @TwitterSupport and @TwitterDev, also adopting the ‘X’ moniker over time.

Musk has always been a fan of the letter ‘X’. Back when the rebranding was first announced, he said that he would “soon bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds”, referring to the iconic blue bird logo that was associated with Twitter since its inception. According to him, the X logo would be “more fitting for the future”.

How To Work With Tables And Charts In ChatGPT

0

OpenAI announced GPT-4o earlier this week but it isn’t done with the announcements as the company just revealed a new set of features for ChatGPT Plus users where they can not only upload files directly from Google Drive or OneDrive, but also work with charts and tables.

ChatGPT: OneDrive, Google Drive Integration

OpenAI is now allowing users to upload files directly from Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, instead of downloading files to your desktop first and then uploading them to ChatGPT. Various file types are supported for direct upload via your Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive. This allows ChatGPT to understand your Google Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint files more quickly.

ChatGPT: Work With Charts and Tables In Real-Time

To start, upload one or more data files, and ChatGPT will analyze your data by writing and running Python code on your behalf. It can handle a range of data tasks, like merging and cleaning large datasets, creating charts, and uncovering insights.

When you add a dataset, ChatGPT creates an interactive table that you can expand to a full-screen view, allowing you to track updates during your analysis. One can also click on specific areas to ask follow-up questions, or select from ChatGPT’s suggested prompts to delve deeper into the analysis. Just upload the dataset of your choice and ask ChatGPT to analyse specific parts of it. For instance, you can ask ChatGPT to combine spreadsheets of monthly expenses and create a pivot table categorized by expense type.

Coming to Charts, you can now customize and interact with bar, line, pie, and scatter plot charts in the ChatGPT conversation. You can hover over chart elements, ask additional questions, or select colours. Once you are finished with the customisation, you can download it to use in presentations or documents. These new interactive features cover many chart types. ChatGPT will generate a static version for charts that aren’t supported.

For example, you can select a Google Sheet with your company’s latest user data directly from Google Drive and ask ChatGPT to create a chart showing retention rates by cohort.

Data analysis improvements will be available in to OpenAI’s new flagship model, GPT-4o, for ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise users over the coming weeks.

GTA 6 Is Coming In Late 2025: Confirmed

The hype for Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) went up when the world saw the first trailer of the game about five months back in December 2023 and Rockstar then went radio silent about it. Now, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar who is developing GTA 6, has confirmed that the much anticipated title will be launching sometime in fall of 2025, which in other words, translates to late 2025.

In Take-Two’s Q4 2024 earnings report, the company stated the timeframe as to when exactly gamers can expect the arrival of the next entry in the GTA series. “As we enter Fiscal 2025 with positive momentum, we expect to deliver Net Bookings of $5.55 to $5.65 billion. Our outlook reflects a narrowing of Rockstar Games’ previously established window of Calendar 2025 to Fall of Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI. We are highly confident that Rockstar Games will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience, and our expectations for the commercial impact of the title continue to increase”, said the report.

This is a much awaited development for those waiting to experience GTA 6 as soon as possible. While Rockstar vaguely mentioned the release date as 2025 in the first trailer of GTA 6, we now have a narrowed-down timeframe for late 2025 and one can expect it to release between September and December of 2025. For instance, GTA 5 launched on September 17, 2013.

Aside from that, Grand Theft Auto VI, as confirmed by Rockstar Games, is coming to PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems in 2025. There’s no word yet on when it will launch on PC. Going by the trend Rockstar followed with GTA 5, the PC version of GTA 6 should arrive a few months after the game launches for consoles.

Aside from the GTA 6 release timeframe, the company reported that GTA V has sold 200 million copies, making it the second best-selling game of all time, though it still trails behind Minecraft by 100 million copies.

The next version of Google’s smartwatch platform, 5, will be arriving later this year, based on Android 14. Wear OS 5 brings performance improvements over Wear OS 4. Developers are also now able to have weather data as a source in Watch Face Format. In addition, starting in early 2025, all new watch faces published on Google Play must use the Watch Face Format. Existing faces that use other libraries will be able to receive updates without the requirement to transition to the new format.

Google is also introducing adaptive layouts and components so that the is better suited for all types of watches with different sizes and shapes. While there aren’t any major new features introduced with Wear OS 5, under the hood enhancements are likely to bring a major boost to the battery life which is still something that is in dire need of improvement on Wear OS-powered smartwatches.
