Homegrown mobile phone brand, Tambo Mobiles has announced the launch of its latest smartphone – the TA-40. The device will be an entry-level device that features a fingerprint scanner, as well as face, unlock and comes at an asking price of Rs 5,999.
The Tambo TA-40 will feature a 5.45-inch IPS full view display which sits in between the top and bottom bezels. There’s a 5MP front camera above the display which offers secure unlocking through face recognition and can be used in dark scenarios with the help of a flash unit.
The TA-40 is powered by a Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and is paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. The device also features expandable storage to up to 64GB allowing users to enjoy flawless performance of the phone.
The device runs on Android Oreo Go Edition which is a lighter skinned version of Google’s mobile OS. It’s fuelled by a 2,400mAH battery and is backed up by a fingerprint scanner at the rear end for faster unlocking. The smartphone allows you to create shortcuts for the data browsed on the screen with Intelligent Screen.
Imaging on the phone is done by a flash-enabled 5MP front camera and 5MP rear camera. The phone comes loaded with picture beautification features like DualBokeh Mode, Face Beauty and Face Stickers. Users can also make use of the time lapse feature to shoot fast motion movements.

The Tambo TA-40 will be available in Red, Steel Grey and Champagne colours for an asking price of Rs 5,999 across leading retail stores in India.
