Reliance Jio will commence the Jio Fibre rollout on September 5 and as a means to counter the development, Hathway Broadband has now announced a new 100Mbps plan for a price of Rs 699. Separately, the company has also announced a limited-time price reduction of its Play Box Android TV Box which can now be purchased for as low as Rs 899.
Speaking of its newest broadband plan, Hathway is now offering data at speeds as high as 100Mbps in select cities including Kolkata and Indore. The new Rs 699 plan comes with 1,000GB of data per month at 100Mbps post which the downlink speeds will drop down to 3Mbps.
However, there’s a catch. In order to avail the new 100Mbps broadband plan, users will have to subscribe to a quarterly plan, meaning they’ll have to pay for three months together. In Kolkata, the cheapest 100Mbps broadband plan comes for a price of Rs 2,097 for three months while in Indore, the same plan is available for Rs 2,100.
Hathway recently started offering 200Mbps, 150Mbps and 125Mbps Fiber Broadband plans in June. The company also introduced the Lifelong Binge plan offering users unlimited streaming without any FUP for the price of Rs 399 per month.
Besides the latest broadband plan, Hathway has also reduced the price of its Play Box Android TV streaming box, reports TelecomTalk. The limited-period offer will get you the Hathway Pay Box for as low as Rs 899 with free subscriptions worth Rs 2,500. On every purchase, the Play Box is bundled with three months of Netflix for free, two months of ZEE5, one year of Sun NXT and two months of YuppTV.
The Hathway Play Box has an original price tag of Rs 2,999. The device comes with a dedicated Netflix, YouTube and Google Play buttons on the remote control. The set-top box comes with built-in Chromecast support and one can mirror content from their Android, iOS, Mac and Windows to their TV.
