Airtel rolls out Rs 599 prepaid plan with 84 days validity, Rs 4 lakh life insurance

Airtel's Rs 599 prepaid plan offers 2GB of data per day for 84 days, unlimited national calling and 100 SMS. Additionally, it comes with a Rs 4 lakh life insurance cover through Bharti AXA Life Insurance.

Airtel has started offering a new Rs 599 plan for its prepaid customers. The new prepaid plan comes with a validity of 84 days and competes with Vodafone’s Rs 599 recharge pack which offers a validity of 180 days.

The Rs 599 prepaid plan from Airtel offers 2GB of data per day for 84 days in addition to unlimited national calls and 100 SMSes. But the highlight of the plan comes with the inclusion of an insurance cover worth Rs 4 lakh which Airtel is offering in partnership with Bharti AXA Life Insurance.

Airtel Rs 599 prepaid plan

The latest Airtel plan joins the Rs 249 prepaid plan which was the only one to offer an insurance cover. The company already offered the Rs 499 plan with 2GB daily offerings but with the new Rs 599 plan, users get data and calling benefits in addition to the Rs 4 lakh insurance.

To enrol for the insurance scheme, users will need to first recharge with Rs 599 and then apply for the process through the Airtel Thanks app, retailers or through an SMS. The scheme, which was announced earlier this year, offers a pure life term insurance for any individual between the ages of 18 and 55. The insurance cover will be renewed for three months with every recharge.

Airtel’s latest Rs 599 prepaid plan with Rs 4 lakh insurance can currently only be availed by users in Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu and is expected to extend to all circles across the country in the next few months.

“We believe our network is a great platform to digitally deliver a range of services and solve the problems of customers. We are delighted to partner with Bharti AXA Life Insurance to roll out this innovative offering and remove the barriers of price, access and payment inconveniences for the adoption of life insurance in India. We remain committed to building a digitally enabled and financially secure Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry,” said Manoj Murali, Hub CEO – Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Bharti Airtel.
