Xiaomi has started rolling out an update to the Mi TV 4A 32-Inch, 43-Inch models, bringing new features as well as Android 9 Pie-based Android TV OS to the smart TV. This comes after the company rolled out the Android 9 Pie update for Mi TV 4A Pro and Mi TV 4C Pro recently.
The Android 9 update has been announced by the official Mi TV India Twitter handle. The post reveals that the update brings Chromecast built-in, Data Saver to help you reduce the Mobile Data usage while watching YouTube, Play Store, Play Movies and more.

All users won’t get it the update instantly as the update will roll out in a phased manner. Those have to wait for a couple of more days to get it on their Mi TV 4A.
With Android Pie update, Mi TV users will be able to access Google Play Store, Google Assistant, Play Movies, Play Music and built-in Chromecast support. But since the Mi TV 4A series TVs don’t support BLE, you won’t be able to use the Google Assistant even if you buy a new remote with a dedicated Assistant button.
Xiaomi launched Mi TV 4A TVs last year with Patchwall UI based on Android Nougat. The company has now skipped the Android Oreo update for the Mi TV 4A models and directly rolled out Android TV Pie update for these TVs.
