Xiaomi will be launching its flagship smartphone Mi 8 along with the new MIUI 10 and its fitness tracker, Mi Band 3 on May 31. Now a new report suggests that the company might also be launching another smartphone which is dubbed as Xiaomi Mi 8 SE.
The smartphone surfaced on Chinese microblogging website Weibo and was first picked up by AndroidPure. As per the report, Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is said to be a limited-edition variant of the Mi 8. One of the references comes from the listing of 50 Yuan coupons on Weibo which means that the coupons can be redeemed to buy the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE smartphone.
Sadly, no hardware specifications of Mi 8 SE is known at the moment. But it is expected to be a bit toned down variant of the Mi 8.
Xiaomi Mi 8 is said to debut with Apple’s Animoji. On terms of specifications, the Mi 8 will feature a 6.2-inch full HD+ (2280 x 1080) IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage, though the phone will probably arrive in more than one variant.
For the camera department, Xioami Mi 8 will feature a dual rear camera of 20-megapixel (f/2.0 aperture) + 16-megapixel (f/1.7 aperture) sensors while for the front it will have a 16-megapixel (f/1.7 aperture) selfie camera. The Mi 8 will run on Android 8.1 Oreo and will come with 3,300 mAh battery.
