Vodafone rolls out 3G services in Kolkata

With internet speeds upto 21.1 Mbps, Vodafone 3G users can enjoy a host of services like video calling, fast internet, and mobile TV.

Vodafone Essar Ltd has rolled out its services in Kolkata.

With internet speeds upto 21.1 Mbps, Vodafone 3G users can enjoy a host of services like video calling, fast internet, and mobile TV.

Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Rao, chief executive officer, Vodafone Essar East limited, said, “There are numerous avenues for the consumer to have faster access to entertainment, better fulfillment of their information needs and a smarter way to communicate, while on the go. We expect a strong uptake and high demand for these 3G Services and we welcome all our subscribers to faster, smarter, better world of Vodafone 3G.”

After activating 3G services, the subscriber can avail video calling at Rs 3/min. Customers can also enjoy live TV with a subscription pack at Rs 150 monthly or Rs 7 daily. Usage charges of 10p/10KB or as per Vodafone Live plan will be applicable. Mobile services will be made available to the customers through a 3G stick.

Mobile internet plans, which offer 100 of free data usage, start from Rs 100 for postpaid and Rs 103 for prepaid subscribers. The mobile internet plan allows the user to use the handset as a to connect with PC or laptop.

The Mobile Broadband plans starts from Rs 650 and goes up to Rs 1,250 where customers can get data usage of 1GB and 5GB respectively.

Vodafone customers will be charged at 10p per 10 post the free benefit for mobile internet, broadband and integrated plan data usage. For the integrated plan, the customers will also have to pay 50 paisa/min and 50 paisa/SMS respectively post the free benefit for voice and SMS.

Vodafone’s 3G Services will also power the new Mifi device, which can provide portable access to 5 to 10 devices, at one time. This technology will also provide a mobile broadband service for its customers, primarily providing PC and laptop connectivity. Faster means access to high definition video, games and much more are now possible in 3G coverage.
