Vodafone launches 3G services in UP

3G service launched in Lucknow and Kanpur, will be extended to Allahabad and Varanasi in next two months and then to the remaining cities.

Vodafone has launched its services in Uttar Pradesh, with Lucknow and Kanpur to begin with followed by Allahabad and Varanasi in the next two months. Remaining cities of UP will be covered in due course.

Vodafone will offer internet access at speeds up to 21.1 Mbps. It will offer various data plans starting from Rs 100 for 100MB to Rs 1250 for 5GB. Other goodies like free and will also be given.

For purpose users can pay Rs 650 for 1GB and 1250 for 5GB of data, users also have option to buy long duration packs like in Rs 6250 you get 5 per month for six months. No unlimited plan has been launched but 5GB should be sufficient for most use cases.

Currently, customers in east Uttar Pradesh will have access to Vodafone 3G services at no additional cost.

Vodafone is one of the last players to roll put its 3G services, Tata Docomo and Reliance communication were the first to launch 3G services in December in the country.

Airtel and Aircel have also launched services recently and are fast ramping up with several launches in the last couple of week. Idea cellular and Stel are the only remaining service providers who have not launched the service so far.
