The Yaris comes with seven SRS airbags in all variants, which will include side airbags, Curtain Shield Airbags and knee airbag. Further, it will have Anti-lock Brake System with EBD distribution, Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Vehicle Stability Control, Front & Rear Parking Sensors, All 4-Wheel Disc Brakes.
Toyota India has finally announced the launch of its mid-size sedan, Yaris. The company has already announced the pricing of the car which will range between Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 14.07 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the sale of the sedan will start today. First unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo held in Greater Noida, the car will be rivalling against the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Honda City.
In terms of design, the Yaris spots the similar body language of its elder sibling, Toyota Corolla. At the front, it has chrome finished grill connecting the projector headlamps and Daytime Running LED. Further, the lower grill is placed below the fog lamps which gives the car an aggressive look.
Inside the cabin one will get the dual tone interior scheme, the dashboard gets the all-black matt colour highlighted with the silver stripes rear the AC vents and near the 7-inch LED touchscreen panel running down to the gear shifter unit. Further, it comes with navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, GPS, 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display, cruise control and paddle shifters. It also has a High Solar Energy-Absorbing (HSEA), IR cut, Acoustic and Vibration Control Glass for Windshield and Doors for the quieter cabin.
Concerning specification, the Toyota Yaris (Picture Gallery) offers a 1497cc capacity of 1.5-litre VVT-i, 4 cylinder petrol engine which will generate 109 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm with peak torque of 140 Nm at 4,200 rpm. It has a 6-speed manual and 7-step CVT (automatic) gearbox, with the claimed mileage of 21 kmpl. Currently, the sedan is only available in the petrol engine variant, but later the brand is expected to offer a 1.4-liter diesel trim as well.
