Sony releases video teaser ahead of MWC 2018

The Sony devices which are expected to be launched at Mobile World Congress are Sony Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Pro and XZ2 Compact.

Sony is all set to hold its launch event at the upcoming Mobile World Congressevent to be held in Barcelona later this month. The company has scheduled its launch event at MWC on February 26th and it will start at 8.30am CET (1 PM IST). Now ahead of the launch, Sony has released a video hinting at its product lineup for the MWC.

Sony on its official Twitter handle has posted a video teaser which does not reveal the name of the smartphones to be unveiled at the vent but has confirmed its presence at MWC 2018. Sony seems to be launching a device with either a curved display or a curved back cover, as per video. The Sony devices which are expected to be launched at Mobile World Congress are Sony Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Pro and XZ2 Compact.

Recently, Sony Xperia XZ2 Pro appeared in HTML benchmark test screenshot with codename Sony H1866. The smartphone is expected to be the world’s first smartphone with a OLED display. The report revealed that the Xperia XZ2 Pro with the 4k display would be supporting an aspect ratio of 18:9. The benchmark also showed that the device will run 8.1 Oreo operating system.

The leaks also revealed that the 4K OLED display on the Sony smartphone will be made by LG. As per rumours, the Xperia smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It is expected to featuring a dual camera setup of an 18-megapixel sensor with a size of 1.33μm and a 12-megapixel sensor with a pixel size of 1.38μm. For the front, the device will feature a 13-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats.

As per leaks, Sony Xperia XZ2 features an display with a of 2160 x 1080 pixels which suggests at 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, along with Adreno 630 GPU. The smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.
