Sharp launches air purifier with ability to catch mosquitos

The air purifier is touted to be world’s first to come with mosquito catcher feature

Sharp, a known name in air purification devices, has today announced the launch of a new air purifier, which features an in-built mosquito catcher. Dubbed as Sharp FP-FM40E, the air purifier comes with a price tag of Rs 26,000 and is available exclusively through Amazon.

The air purifier is also equipped with true HEPA filter, which the brand claims can capture 99.97 percent of air particles like smoke, dust and pollen which is as small as 0.03 microns.
The air purifier combines Sharp’s patented Plasmacluster Ion technology and a non-toxic mosquito-catching mechanism to eliminate both micro and macroscopic pollutants present in indoor air. The company further claims that it reduces asthma exacerbations, which is caused due to exposure to airborne allergens.
Commenting on the launch, Shuvendu Mazumdar, National Manager- Sharp Air Purifier Business said: “At Sharp, we are committed to ensuring a healthy environment through innovative solutions to curtail indoor air pollution. Engineered by industry experts, this one of its kind product combines Sharp’s Plasmacluster technology with an advanced mosquito catching mechanism that offers holistic performance.”
