Months after unveiling the latest generation of Galaxy Watch wearable, Samsung is now rolling on an update to the smartwatch alongside the Gear S3 and the Gear Sport. Al three Samsung smartwatches will now run on One UI which is Samsung’s newest UI on smartphones.
The latest update shifts the firmware version of the Galaxy Watch, Gear S3 and the Gear Sport to R800XXU1CSE1, R760XXU2ESE3 and R600XXU1CSE2 respectively, reports SamMobile. The update is available over-the-air and brings a ton of new features to Samsung’s watch interface.
Among the new features is the workout profile for outdoor swimming, high heart rate alerts and Daily Activity to track the overall progress. There will be a new settings menu and users will now have the ability to wake up the display by touching the screen. The new firmware promises better battery optimisation and also allows users to manage background apps with more ease.
The One UI watch interface has new animations, graphics and an informational “at a glance” layout. Users can add new watch faces by download and applying a new package. Samsung is also promising quicker workout tracking through the Samsung Health app.
The One UI update is available starting today for the Galaxy Watch, Gear S3 and Gear Sport and can be found in the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.
