Reliance Jio extends Prime membership for free to its existing members

Reliance Jio has extended the Prime subscription for one year to all its existing customers. The membership has been auto-renewed to certain customers across the country.

To recall, the company introduced its Prime membership at an annual price of Rs 99. In order to check whether your Prime membership is auto-renewed or not, one needs to open My Jio app and go to My Plans section. There, if the membership is auto-renewed, you will receive a message stating, “Your request to avail free JioPrime membership for a year has been registered successfully. You can now enjoy JioPrime benefits for another year. Thank You!”

With Prime membership, Jio customers can avail the host of Jio apps including JioCinema, JioMusic, JioTV and more. The Prime members also get additional data along with exclusive offers and more.

Meanwhile, the company is reported to be working on a ‘super’ application that will come loaded with over 100 services. The company is planning to bring different services like payments, bookings, e-store and more with it’s a new application. With this, Jio is planning to launch an application similar to WeChat in China.

Jio has also announced that it will be launching its GigaFiber FTTH service in 1,600 cities. Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited, Mukesh D Ambani said in a statement to ET Telecom that GigaFiber is rolling out to 1,600 cities across India after a successful beta test in selected cities.
