Postpaid plans under Rs 1000: Idea vs Vodafone vs Jio vs Airtel

Here we have compared the postpaid plans under Rs 1,000 of various operators. Remember, there are costlier plans too which we will discuss in another article.

A reader of ours once told how he got stuck to a of a company for 3-4 years with same benefits. He felt great initially as the plan offered him 750 of data per month with superb calling and benefits. But that was several years back. Some months back he realised how much he was losing and how his telco was not changing plan benefits under his scheme. So he decided to convert to a prepaid one.

But you need not do that. All the telcos now offer much better postpaid plans. Here thus we have compared the postpaid plans of the top four telecom operators, i.e Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular and Reliance Jio. And if you feel you are not getting much, you can switch to other operators. So here we have compared the postpaid plans under Rs 1,000 of various operators. Remember, there are costlier plans too which we will discuss in another article.

Bharti Airtel

It offers five plans under Rs 1,000. All the plans offer unlimited local and STD calling. The cheapest Rs 399 plan offers 10 of monthly data and access to Wynk music. outgoing calls are charged under this. The other plans, however, come with free outgoing roaming facility, handset damage protection, Wynk music and live TV and movies offer.

The Rs 499, Rs 699, Rs 799 and Rs 999 plans of Airtel offer 20 GB, 30 GB, 40 GB and 50 GB of monthly data respectively.

Reliance Jio

The Mukesh Ambani telco has Rs 309, Rs 409, Rs 509, Rs 799 and Rs 999 postpaid plans. All the plans offer access to Jio apps, unlimited calling (local, STD as well as roaming), as well as unlimited SMSes.

The only difference between them is the data limit. The Rs 309 plan offers 30 GB of monthly data with 1 GB FUP limit. The Rs 409 plan has no daily data limit but offers just 20 GB of data. The Rs 999 plan has no daily data limit either and it offers 60 GB of monthly data.

The other two plans, Rs 509 and Rs 799, offer 60 GB and 90 GB of data with 2 GB and 3 GB daily data limits.

Idea Cellular:

It has just announced a new range of postpaid plans, called Nirvana. Under this, the telco offers eight plans in total. The new range starts at Rs 389 and goes up to Rs 2,999 and under Rs 1,000, it has four plans. All the plans offer unlimited local/STD calling, 100 SMS per day, free international roaming, Idea anti-theft, antivirus and damage protection plan for up 12 months, andfree subscription of Idea Movies & TV, Idea Music and Idea Games for 12 months.

The Rs 389 plan offers 10 GB of data per month with carrying forward option with a limit up to 200 GB while a Rs 499 plan offers 20 GB high-speed data with 200 GB carry forward data limit. The Nirvana range has Rs 649 and Rs 999 plans which offer 35 GB and 60 GB per month respectively with same 200 GB data carry forward option.

Vodafone:

It has Rs 399, Rs 499, Rs 699, and Rs 999 plans that offer 10 GB, 20 GB, 35 GB and 50 GB monthly data respectively. The operator calls it Red Postpaid plans.

All of them offer unlimited local, STD and national roaming (incoming and outgoing). All these plans also allows subscribers to carry forward the unused data of up to 200 GB. As per Vodafone website, the plans offer 100 SMSes.
