Nokia 7 was launched in China in October this year with a starting price of CNY 2,499 (Rs 26,500). Now as per a report, the Finnish company is likely to launch the device in global markets sometime in early 2018.
HMD Global is likely to unveil the Nokia 9 along with a Nokia 8 (2018) on 19th January 2018. Alongside both these smartphones, the company is also likely to unveil a 4G feature phone.
The report further mentions that the international variant of the smartphone will be boasting the model number TA-1041. Nokia 7 is currently exclusive to China. If the reports are true, the Nokia 7 will reach markets around the globe.
As of now, the confirmed launch date of Nokia 7 is not known. However, keeping in mind that the HMD Global is set to host an international event on January 19, we might see some new announcements including Nokia 7 for global markets.
Nokia 7 is also not likely to be launched in India as per an earlier report. Pekka Rantala, Chief Marketing Officer, HMD Global has earlier said: “Nokia 7 is designed for Chinese consumers, so currently we’ve no plans to bring it to India”. But a global launch might also lead to its debut in India as well.
In China, the Nokia 7 is available in two variants – the base variant is priced at 2,499 Yuan (approximately Rs 24,600), while the high-end variant is priced at 2,699 Yuan (approximately Rs 26,500).
To recall, the Nokia 7 comes with a 5.2-inch IPS HD display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. On the specification front, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 630 processor with 4GB/6GB RAM along with 64GB of internal storage. The Nokia 7 runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 operating system out of the box, which will be further upgradable to Android Oreo 8.0.
As far as cameras are concerned the smartphone feature a 16-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture, along with a dual-tone LED flash. On the front, the smartphone comes with a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. Other than this the Nokia 7 features a bothie camera, which allows the user to capture rear and front pictures in a single image at the same time.

On the connectivity front, the device features WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB type-C port and NFC. Under the hood, Nokia 7 comes with a 3000 mAh battery, which does not support any kind of fast charging.
