April month is going to see a host of smartphone launches in India. The launches will include budget smartphones as well as premium ones to cater to the needs of everyone. We will see smartphone launches from various brands like Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, Vivo, Huawei and Samsung.

So here we have shortlisted upcoming smartphones that will surely hit the Indian shores soon and are worth waiting for. Here we discussed in detail about the handsets and their expected specifications.

Xiaomi Poco F2

Xiaomi Poco F1 was launched as the cheapest smartphone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor. Now its successor, Poco F2 is expected to be launched with the Snapdragon 855 chipset.

The Poco F2 was recently spotted on Geekbench revealing some key specifications. The listing revealed that the Poco F2 will run on upcoming Q, which will be based on the company’s custom user interface on top of it. Xiaomi Poco F1 is available in 6 and 8 GB options. Poco F2 will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The phone is powered by a 4GB of RAM, however, one could also expect different memory and storage options for the upcoming smartphone.

Earlier Poco F2 was spotted on GeekBench website in December last year. The listing then revealed that the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and 6GB of RAM. For the software, the listing showed Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box.

Realme 3 Pro

Realme 3 was launched earlier this month for a starting price of Rs 8,999. At the launch event, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth revealed that the company would be launching the Realme 3 Pro next month and it will give competition to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro.

Although Sheth revealed neither the exact launch date nor any specifications of the upcoming Realme 3 Pro smartphone, except for revealing that the phone will be launched in April 2019. Being touted as the Redmi Note 7 Pro, we can expect the Realme 3 Pro to come with a 48MP sensor on the rear. The phone will presumably be an upgrade to the Realme 3, and may sport a better processor along with a better camera.

As per rumours, Realme 3 Pro could be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset, or perhaps a more powerful Snapdragon 710 chip. It is likely to feature 6.3-inch full display a screen resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels running on Android Pie. The phone might feature 6GB RAM, 64GB storage and 4500mAh battery.

Oppo Reno

Oppo has scheduled a launch event on April 10 in China where the company is all set to launch its upcoming Reno smartphone series. The phone is also likely to launch in India soon after. Oppo Reno will be available in four different colour options – Sea Green, Midnight Black, Pink and Nebula Purple.

As per rumours, Oppo Reno will come with a no-notch design. It is expected that the company might opt for a pop-up camera. The phone will not have a curved screen design and there’s no fingerprint reader on the back of the device. So, it is expected that the phone will feature in-display scanner.

Leaks say that the Reno smartphone will feature a 6.4-inch display that probably supports Full HD+ resolution. The flagship will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset.

The smartphone will be equipped with a 48-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual camera setup. For the front, it will have a 16-megapixel camera. It will have 4064mAh battery with VOOC 2.0 technology. The device will be loaded with the latest ColorOS v6.0 and it will have connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 5.0.

Huawei P30

Huawei launched theHuawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro smartphones at an event in Paris recently. Now both smartphones will be launching in India in April. The regular Huawei P30 is priced at EUR 799 (approx Rs 62,200) and it comes in a single variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Huawei P30 features 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. In terms of optics, the Huawei P30 features a triple camera setup equipping a 40MP Huawei SuperSpectrum (f/1.8 aperture) sensor, a 16MP Ultra-wide angle (f/2.2) lens and an 8MP 3X optical periscope-zoom (f/2.4, OIS) lens. For the front, the phone features 32MP SuperSelfie camera on the front for selfies and video calling.

It is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 980 which comprises of dual Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.6GHz, two Cortex-A76 clocked at 1.92GHz and four Cortex-A55 at 1.8GHz. It runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with Emotion 9.1 and packs a 3650mAh battery with HUAWEI SuperCharge technology.

Huawei P30 Pro

Just like, Huawei P30, the P30 Pro is also going to be launched in India in April. Huawei P30 Pro comes in three variants – EUR 999 (approx Rs 77,800) for the 8GB/128GB variant, 8GB/256GB is priced at EUR 1,099 (approx Rs 85,600) and the premium variant with 8GB/512GB storage will cost you EUR 1,249 (approx Rs 97,300), respectively.

Huawei P30 Pro

Huawei P30 Pro features a larger 6.47-inch OLED FullView Display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The P30 Pro offers a larger 4,200mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge technology as well as 15W wireless charging. For the camera, the smartphone is equipped with a Leica Quad Camera setup which combines a 40MP Huawei SuperSpectrum (27mm, f/1.6, OIS) sensor, a 20MP Ultra-wide angle (16mm, f/2.2) lens, an 8MP 5X optical periscope-zoom (125mm, f/3.4, OIS) lens and a TOF sensor. For the front, the phone features 32MP SuperSelfie camera on the front for selfies and video calling.

Vivo iQOO

Vivo launched its high-end smartphone for gamers – Vivo iQOO in China this month. Now the phone is also likely to be launched soon in India. Vivo iQOO has a starting price of 2998 yuan (approx. Rs 32,000) for the base 6GB/128GB variant. The 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB options is priced at 3298 yuan (approx. Rs 35,000) and 3598 yuan (approx. Rs 38,000) respectively. Vivo is also offering a top-end version of the iQOO with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for 4298 yuan (approx. Rs 45,500).

The phone is equipped with super liquid cooling, AI Turbo, Center Turbo, Net Turbo, Cooling Turbo, and Game Turbo for better gaming. It features 6.41-inch Full HD+ Super with a resolution of 1080 × 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 which is an Octa-core 7nm and is accompanied by Adreno 640 GPU.

The iQOO gaming phone runs on Android 9 Pie with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 9 on top and features a 4000mAh battery with support for 44-watt ultra-fast charging. It features a triple-camera setup at the back which incorporates a 12MP main camera, a 13MP Sony IMX263 lens and a 2 MP depth sensor. For the front, there’s a 12MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Samsung Galaxy A40

Samsung Galaxy A40 is expected to be officially unveiled on April 10 at an event in Bangkok, Milan, and São Paulo. Dutch e-tailer Belsimpel has already started taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy A40 for Euros 249 which is approx. Rs 19,500. The phone is available in four colour variants – Black, Blue, Coral, and White.

Samsung Galaxy A40 features a 5.9-inch full HD+ 2280×1080 pixel resolution AMOLED Infinity-U display. For the camera department, the phone has a dual rear camera setup with a combination of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel, with regular and ultra-wide sensors. For the front, the smartphone has a 25-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7885 chipset with ARM Mali G71 GPU. The phone has 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage and expandable up to 512GB via slot. For the software, the phone boots Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, with the One UI on top and is backed up by 3100mAh battery with fast charging support. It features a fingerprint scanner on the back. The device measures 144.3 x 69.1 x 7.9mm.

Samsung Galaxy A70

Samsung recently announced a new entrant to its A-series smartphone lineup with the launch of the Galaxy A70 in South Korea. Price and availability of the device are yet unknown but we can expect it to be announced during the Galaxy event which is scheduled for April 10.

The Galaxy A70 runs on Samsung One UI based on Android 9 Pie with Night Mode, Samsung Pay, Knox and Samsung Pass. It features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Infinity-U display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a U-shaped notch at the top. The device will be available in Black, White, Coral and Blue colours with a “3D Glasstic” finish at the back. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 670 octa-core chipset and is coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

The Galaxy A70 is fuelled by a 4,500mAh battery which supports 25W fast charging. The phone features a 32MP (f/1.7 aperture) primary camera coupled with an 8MP (f/2.2 aperture, 123-degree field-of-view) ultra-wide camera and a 5MP (f/2.2 aperture) depth-sensing camera. For the front, there is 32MP f/2.0 sensor for selfies and video calling.

Samsung Galaxy A90

Samsung has scheduled a launch event on April 10 where it will introduce new Galaxy A series of smartphones. One of the expected devices is the Samsung Galaxy A90 which has already been a subject of leaks and rumours now.

Galaxy A90 was recently leaked on Samsung Indonesia website, revealing its notch-less display. The display of the Galaxy A90 will be completely notch-less. The phone is expected to feature a battery with a capacity of 3,610mAh. While it can’t be confirmed yet, it’s now likely that the A90 will feature a smaller battery than the 4,000mAh power unit on the Galaxy A50, A30 and A20.

As per rumours, the Samsung Galaxy A90 is expected to feature a 6.41-inch display. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7150 SoC, however, Qualcomm has not launched this chipset yet. The phone will have 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage. It is likely to run on One UI based on Android Pie.

Samsung Galaxy A60

Samsung has scheduled a launch event on April 10 where it will be announcing new Galaxy A-series smartphones. The entire specifications of the A60 recently appeared on TENAA listing.

As per the listing, Samsung Galaxy A60 will feature a 6.3-inch full HD+ display with a 19:5:9 aspect ratio. The handset features a triple rear camera setup and comes with a 32MP front-facing shooter. The phone will be powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor.

The phone comes in two variants – one with 6GB RAM and 64GB built-in storage and another with 8GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage. Both are expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB). The fingerprint sensor is present on the rear of the phone. It runs Android 9.0 Pie-based One UI platform and will be fueled by a 3,410mAh battery.

For the camera, the device comes with a rear-facing triple camera setup, consisting of a 16MP primary sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 5MP depth sensor. The Galaxy A60 measures 155.2 x 73.9 x 7.9mm and it weighs 162 grams. The phone will come in Black, Blue, Orange, and Coral colours.
