Now part of Vodafone Idea Limited, Idea Cellular has launched a new prepaid plan for Rs 159, just a month after Airtel announced a new prepaid recharge plan with more or less the same benefits for the same price.
The Rs 159 prepaid plan from Idea Cellular comes with a validity of 28 days with benefits like unlimited calling and 1GB data per day which amounts to a total of 28GB during the course of the validity. Considering both Vodafone and Idea are pushing plans for in and around the same prices, it means both brands are working on smoothening the edges post the merger with the introduction of price parity and similar plans.
In addition to providing 1GB data per day for 28 days, the Rs 159 pack offers unlimited local, STD calling and national Roaming but with a limitation. Users will only be able to make voice calls for 250 minutes per day with a total of 100 minutes for a week. The prepaid plan also offers 100 SMSes during the 28-day period.
TelecomTalk details that the latest prepaid plan is a segmented plan, meaning it’s only available in select circles across the country, limited to a specific set of customers.
Similar to Idea’s Rs 159 plan, Jio is also offering a Rs 149 prepaid plan with unlimited calling, 1.5GB of 4G data per day and 100 SMS for 28 days. For the same Rs 159 prepaid pack, Airtel also offers 1GB data per day, unlimited calls and 100 SMS for 28 days.
