Hathway has announced the launch of a new smart set-top box and hybrid Ultra Smart HUB in India in collaboration with Datacom. The company has introduced the Ultra Smart HUB at a price tag of Rs 2,999, while the Play Box has not been revealed at the time of writing. The products will be available to local cable operators starting October 15 and customers will be able to register from November 01, 2018.
Starting with Hathway Play Box, it is basically an Android TV-powered set-top box that comes loaded with Google Play Services. The device comes with a dedicated Netflix, YouTube and Google Play buttons on the remote control. Further, one can enjoy both regional as well as international content on their TV with a single click with Play Box. Users can also use Google Assistant on the Play Box and can ask the Assistant to do various things as well.
The new set-top box comes with built-in Chromecast support and one can mirror content from their Android, iOS, Mac and Windows to their TV. Further, the device allows users to add multiple participants in the game on the same screen of the TV.
Coming to the Ultra Smart Hub, it is basically a cable hybrid box that combines the linear TV with Play services in HDR quality. It comes with a easy to use smart interface and one can simply switch between linear TV channels and Play services. One can also download different apps from the Play Store for a customised experience.
