Google’s recently announced Nexus 7 tablet, made by Asus, will soon get the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update.
The update will be made available over the air primarily but in some regions, other mediums (like specific software) might be chosen as well. The Android 4.2 is the incremental upgrade to the Android Jelly Bean 4.1 which was issued couple of months back.
With the new upgrade, the tablet will get the much awaited multi user support. This means that now different users will be able to use a single Nexus 7 tablet with their dedicated account with settings, files and apps they like. This will definitely give rise to a different type of usage of the tablets.
Along with that the update brings along gesture based input system for the typing as well. With this, you no longer have to tap out every letter, thus making typing much faster than ever. With gesture typing you just have to swipe your finger across all the letters for the word and then lift your finger, the keyboard uses a smart algorithm to determine what word you meant to type based on the letters you touched and instantly types it out.
Along with that Google has added Miracast wireless media sharing to the operating system which will be added to the device as well. Miracast is the new standard for wireless multimedia transmission, something like DLNA but is considered better than the later. The update also brings better performance and speed.
The Google Nexus 7 comes with a 1.3 GHz quad core Tegra 3 Processor with a GeForce 12 core graphics processor, 1 GB of RAM, 1280 x 800 Pixel IPS 7 inch display, Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities and nine hours battery backup consisting of continuous video playback.
