Telecom operators Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel will be raising tariffs on mobile services from December to limit the losses.
Vodafone Idea said in a statement, “To ensure that its customers continue to enjoy world-class digital experiences, Vodafone Idea will suitably increase the prices of its tariffs effective December 1, 2019.”
Immediately after the Vodafone Idea announcement, Bharti Airtel also announced that tariff for its mobile services will is increased from next month. “The telecom sector is highly capital intensive with fast-changing technology cycles that require continuing investments.It is, therefore, extremely important that the industry remains viable to support the vision of Digital India.Airtel will appropriately increase price offerings in the month beginning December,” the company said in a statement.
Airtel and Vodafone Idea have not shared any details about the kind of increase consumers in different plans as on now. Since teh entry of Jio in mobile and Broadband space both Airtel and Vodafone Idea had decreased their tariff significantly. The change in tariff will be for post prepaid and Postpaid plans. It will also impact sachet plans as well.
