Amazon’s cheapest Kindle to soon get Audible support via OTA update

With the Amazon’s Audible users are able to stream books in forms of audio to wireless headphone or speaker via Bluetooth. As the basic Kindle and the Kindle Oasis do not feature an inbuilt or 3.5mm headphone jack.

Amazon is going to add the Audible feature to its basic Kindle. It was first integrated into the recently launched waterproof Kindle Oasis, which is available at starting price of Rs 21,990. However, Amazon Basic Kindle is listed for Rs 5,999. The e-commerce giant confirmed that the service will be available in all the Kindle devices with an over-the-air (OTA) update in upcoming weeks.

With the Amazon’s Audible users are able to stream books in forms of audio to wireless or speaker via Bluetooth. As the basic Kindle and the Kindle Oasis do not feature an inbuilt or 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming back to the specifications of Amazon’s basic Kindle WiFi e-reader. It features a glare-free 6-inches touch display, of 167 PPI. It comes with a 4GB internal storage and only weight 161g. Other than this, it is the most sold Kindle device, so it makes the Amazon’s Audible more approachable to users.

To recall, The Kindle Oasis features a 7-inch, 300 PPI display and fits over 30 percent more words to the screen. The device is IPX8 waterproof certified, as it can be submerged in water up to 2 meters for up to 60 minutes. Other than this, Kindle Oasis is available in 8GB/32GB, allowing users to store even more content with large file sizes.
