Amazon has introduced two new products to its Echo family with the launch of the Echo Link and Echo Link Amp companion devices. The companion products will allow high fidelity streaming music to your home stereo system and bring Alexa for music selection, volume, and playback. The Echo Link and Echo Link Amp will be available for pre-order starting today for asking prices of Rs 19,999 and Rs 29,999. A week back Amazon had launchedEcho Show smart display in India for Rs 22,999.
Starting with the cheaper model, the Echo Link connects to a receiver, an amplifier or directly to powered speakers using one of the on-device analogue, optical, or coaxial output jacks. It comes with a subwoofer line-output with adjustable crossover frequency, and a 3.5mm amplified headphone jack.
The Echo Link Amp has the same features and functionality as that of the Echo Link but with the presence of a 60W per channel stereo amplifier.
The Echo Link and Link Amp feature analogue, optical, and coaxial line-inputs which allow users to connect and play music from CD players, amplified turntable or MP3 players. Both devices have volume knobs for granular control and an Ethernet port for reliable connectivity.
The Echo Link or Echo Link Amp can be set as a preferred speaker when grouped to use any of your Echo devices to play music. When connected to a companion device, an existing audio system can be added to a Multi-Room Music group for streaming music across different rooms. Users can also ask Alexa to “Play music everywhere” to hear music throughout the house. Both devices can also be controlled through the Alexa app.
The Echo Link and Echo Link Amp will be available for pre-order starting today for asking prices of Rs 19,999 and Rs 29,999. Echo Link will begin shipping to customers from next week, while Echo Link Amp will start to reach customers from early May.
