Amazon has introduced a new feature which it calls the Alexa Cast, enabling users to control music playback on their Echo speakers through their smartphones. The feature is available through the Amazon Music app on iOS and Android devices and lets users play their Amazon Prime Music India playlist to any Alexa-enabled speaker for a seamless music experience.
It’s to be noted that Alexa Cast will work with any speaker that’s powered by Alexa which includes Amazon’s own Echo speakers as weak as third-party Alexa products. The feature will be included as an update to the Amazon Music app on Android and iOS with a dedicated icon for Alexa Cast which will take you to the Now Playing screen. The feature will make sure your music is in sync and you can listen to the music on the phone when leaving your house.
Alexa Cast even allows playback on multiple devices at the same time, if you’ve got more than one Alexa speaker to go with, that is. With the latest feature, users can now switch between voice and Amazon Prime Music app controls with ease. Users can also tap on the Alexa icon to bring up a list of all available Alexa enabled devices to select from and group-cast music simultaneously.
