Two days after Vodafone reduced its 2G data rates by 80 per cent, Airtel has now slashed its 2G data rates by up to 90 per cent in nine circles for its pre paid customers.
So after this reduction, Airtel is offering 2G data for as low as 1 paisa per 10 KB while earlier it was charging 10 paisa per 10 KB.
On the other hand, even after slashing data tariffs Vodafone is offering 2G data at 2 paisa per 10 KB.
Currently 1 paisa per 10 KB tariff for pay as you use is available for prepaid users of Airtel in nine circles that includes UP East, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Gujarat, Kolkata, Punjab, and Odisha.
Sources have said to The Mobile Indian that in coming days the same data tariffs will be rolled out by Airtel in the remaining circles also.
