Airtel launches VoLTE services in Coimbatore

Bharti Airtel has launched its VoLTE services in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. The company is slowly and steadily adopting the latest services and it will bring this across the country over the next few months.

With the rollout, Airtel customers will get quality voice calls along with faster call setup time. The service is available in popular 4G/LTE enabled devices and customers can call on any mobile, landline network using Airtel VoLTE. Further, there will be no additional data charges for VoLTE and calls will be billed as per existing plan or packs benefits. The company says that users with smartphones should insert their Airtel SIM in SIM slot 1 and network should be selected as 4G/3G/2G so that the VoLTE service could work properly.

Commenting on the launch, Manoj Murali, HUB CEO, Kerala & Tamil Nadu, Bharti Airtel said, “We are delighted to extend our VoLTE footprint in Tamil Nadu with the launch of services in Coimbatore. Complementing our world-class 4G network, VoLTE will add to the customer experience and our range of smartphone offerings.”

In case of non-availability of 4G network coverage, VoLTE calls will automatically fall back on the 3G/2G network, so that the customers continue to stay connected. Customers can easily upgrade their SIM to 4G from their nearest Airtel service centre, by providing a photo ID proof and a passport size photo.
