Telecom operator Airtel has launched a new open market prepaid plan of Rs 289. This new prepaid plan directly competes with the Idea Cellular’s Rs 295 prepaid plan.
TelecomTalk reports that the Airtel Rs 289 plan comes with a validity of 48 days. Under this offer, users will get unlimited voice calls – local, STD and Roaming calls for the entire validity period. Additionally, this plan also offers 1GB of 2G/3G/4G data and 100 SMS per day. Since it is an open market plan, there’s no limit on voice calling.
Idea Rs 295 prepaid plan, on the other hand, offers 5GB of 2G/3G/4G data and 100 SMS per day. It comes with a validity of 42 days and under this offer, Idea is giving unlimited voice calls but it comes with a capping of 250 minutes per day, 1000 minutes per week.
Comparing the two plans, Idea emerges a winner as it comes with more validity and more data benefits. But Idea plan lags behind the Airtel plan as it comes with voice calls with capping feature.
Airtel recently announced that it is offering Rs 50 discount for its Rs 399 postpaid plan for a total of six months. This plan offers additional 20GB data for 12 months, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and a free subscription of Wynk Music.
