After Airtel, Vodafone to drastically reduce 3G tariffs

As per the new revised plan, the Vodafone prepaid subscribers can enjoy 3G for as low as Rs 20.

Days after Airtel slashed its tariffs, Vodafone is now all set to drastically reduce its 3G tariffs in order to lure users. According to Mahesh Telecom, a Mumbai based Vodafone authorised reseller, Vodafone is set to announce its cheap 3G plans for pre-paid subscribers in Mumbai circle.

The Mobile Indian contacted Vodafone India for clarification but the company dismissed the report. Notably, Airtel had recently slashed 3G tariffs by upto 70 per cent.

As per the new revised plan, the Vodafone pre-paid subscribers can enjoy 3G for as low as Rs 20 that offers 25 worth of usage with one day validity. For those who wish to try out 3G pack for a week can go for Rs 44 pack that offers 150 MB usage.

The monthly 3G packs range from Rs 102 to Rs 451 offering different usage data caps. There is a difference of about one rupee between the tariffs of Vodafone and Airtel. Also for power users, Vodafone offers recharge of Rs 1,501 that will provide 10 data usage on 3G network for 30 days validity.

Once a user crosses the limit, the network speed drops and the user gets charged 2 paisa per 10 KB.

With the revised 3G plans, more users will be able to enjoy the 3G network speed on their smartphones. The Mobile Indian contacted Vodafone to verify whether the revised 3G plans are official or not. The company responded that no official or formal announcement has taken place from their end as yet.
