After Airtel & Idea, Vodafone now hikes data benefits by up to 67%

The recent data price cut by leading operators come at a time when Reliance Jio is set to roll out its 4G services, reportedly as soon as this August 15.

After Airtel and Idea, Vodafone has now increased data benefits by upto 67 percent. This means for the same price, you can now get up to 67 percent more data.

“Customers can now enjoy up to 67% more benefits on their existing packs. This additional value will enable them to enjoy their mobile internet experience further by staying online longer and accessing more of their favorite content. It will also make the Internet more affordable for customers who use mobile internet in a limited way and encourage first time users to come online,” Vodafone said in a press release.

Under the revised data benefits, the 3GB 3G/4G monthly recharge pack which was earlier priced at approx. Rs. 650 will now offer 5 data, an increase of 67% data quota. Similarly, the Rs. 449 3G/4G pack now offers 50% more data by increasing the data benefit to 3 GB from 2 GB. The Rs. 999 3G/4G pack will now offer 10 GB data, offering 54% more benefits.

The Rs.39 2G sachet pack with 5-day validity now offers 225MB data vs 160 MB, an increase of 41%, while the Rs. 12 3G/4G sachet pack with 1-day validity now offers 50 MB data vs 30MB, an increase of 67%.

The pack prices mentioned are indicative and may vary from circle to circle, Vodafone added.

With Vodafone Delights offering more data, we want our several million customers to enjoy this network experience to the fullest. We are democratizing data by making it more affordable and accessible. This is key to driving usage and encouraging first time users to come online. We are confident that this move of offering up to 67% additional data benefit on select pre-paid packs, will facilitate in faster adoption of data and its better usage.

Earlier, Airtel as well as Idea had increased data prices by up to 67 per cent. The latest price cut in data prices came as Reliance Jio is getting ready to launch its services. While some reports claims that the Mukesh Ambani company planning to launch 4G services from August 15, others claim that Jio might delay its services’ launch to October this year.
