Xiaomi Redmi 7 touted to last 18 Days on stand-by

The Redmi 7 reached a total of 435 hours which amounts to 18 days and 3 hours on a single charge. The Xiaomi device achieved so due to the implementation of a new graphite negative electrode and an improved power-saving algorithm. The algorithm has been developed to offer better performance in low-temperature conditions.

Last month, Xiaomi announced the Redmi 7 smartphone in China which is soon to be released in the Indian market. The Snapdragon 632-powered phone which comes with a 4,000mAh battery is now touted to come with a larger standby time, lasting you up to over 18 days on a single charge.

Xiaomi arranged a live broadcast on Weibo to showcase the battery performance of the Redmi 7 which was viewed by 28 million users. During the live online event, Xiaomi offered regular updates to users on how long the Redmi 7 can last on standby. The Redmi 7 reached a total of 435 hours which amounts to 18 days and 3 hours on a single charge.

Xiaomi also gave an explanation as to why the device was able to achieve this much of stamina on a single charge. The Redmi 7 features a new graphite negative electrode and Xiaomi has also utilized a new power-saving algorithm inside the phone. The algorithm, Xiaomi says, has been developed to offer better performance in low-temperature conditions, which is precisely what a device will be at, when on standby.

Xiaomi Redmi 7 18 days standby

The Chinese company has also treated the MIUI interface in the Redmi 7 to offer improved power saving and intelligent use of background resources. While establishing that the device will last for over 18 days on standby, Xiaomi also revealed that the same added features will allow the Redmi 7 to last for two days of use on a single charge.

While the device may offer an extended battery life, the Redmi 7 only comes with a 10W charging adapter, unlike that of the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro.

Besides that, the Xiaomi Redmi 7 features a 6.26-inch (1520 × 720 pixels) 19:9 2.5D curved glass display, 84% NTSC Color Gamut, 5 protection. It is powered by 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 632 14nm processor with Adreno 506 coupled with 2GB/3GB/4GB and 16GB/32GB/64GB.

For the camera department, the Redmi 7 has dual rear camera setup with a combination of 12-megapixel primary sensor with Flash, 1.12um pixel size, f/2.2 aperture, a secondary sensor of 2-megapixel. For the front, the smartphone has an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling with features like beauty and AI face unlock.

It runs on 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 and has a fingerprint sensor at the back. Connectivity features include dual VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, 5.0, + GLONASS. It measures 158.65 x 76.43 x 8.47mm and the weight is 180 grams.
