Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 confirmed to be in works

As per rumours, Xiaomi may launch Mi Pad 3 with a 2-in-1 hybrid design.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 was launched in April this year in China at 1499 yuan which is approximately Rs 14,139. Now it seems like the company is planning to release its successor which is dubbed as Xiaomi Mi Pad 4. Xiaomi’s director of marketing, Zang Zhiyuan has confirmed on Chinese microblogging website, Weibo that the next-gen Mi Pad tablet is currently being developed by the company.

As per Zang Zhiyuan, since the Mi Pad 3 has been completely sold out, the Mi Pad 3 is no longer available from the company’s website. Also, there is no confirmation on the arrival of the next-generation Xiaomi tablet.

The Mi Pad 3 was made official in April 2017 and now if Xiaomi plans to launch a new tablet in the beginning of Q2 next year, the company may add a new batch of Mi Pad 3 tablets.

As per rumours, Xiaomi may launch Mi Pad 3 with a 2-in-1 hybrid design. Since today most major brands have announced their 2-in-1 devices, it is expected that Xiaomi may launch also Mi Pad 4 with 2-in-1 design. There is a possibility that the new tablet may support LTE connectivity since the company announced LTE model of Mi Notebook Air at the end of 2016.

To recall the specs of Xiaomi Mi Pad 3, the tablet features all metal body and has a 7.9-inch with 2048 x 1536 pixels and thus offering a of up to 326ppi. It is powered by a high-performance hexa-core 2.1GHz MediaTek MT8176 processor and runs on Marshmallow operating system with Xiaomi’s own MIUI8 skin on top. The tablet gets its strength from a 6100 battery with support for 5V/2A fast charging. The battery offers to browse 12 hours of local video and 867 hours of Standby time.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 comes with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal memory. The tablet also has a 13-megapixel primary camera with flash, f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. Besides, the tablet offers 4G LTE (model dependent), Wi-Fi display, Wifi Direct, 4.1, GPS, and a microUSB port. The tablet is 328 grams in weight.
