The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 smartphone which was recently reported to be featuring 3D facial recognition for unlocking the smartphone has now reportedly got the necessary 3C certification in China, as per a report of Playfuldroid. The listing indicates the launch of the said smartphone is around the corner. However, as per earlier reports, Xioami is expected to launch Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 on September 12 in China.
As per the report, a Chinese leakster has revealed that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 might be launched in the next two months. The leakster has also revealed that Xiaomi might also not launch the Mi Note 3 smartphone this year, which has been surfacing online via various leaks and rumours from a long time.
Codenmaned as Chiron, the Mi Mix 2 has got the necessary 3C certification with model number MDE5 and MDT5. The two models are expected to be two different variants of Mi Mix 2. As per 3C certification listing, the phone will come with MDY-08-ES Quick Charge 3.0 charger.
As per earlier leaked specs, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will feature a 6-inch Japanese Display International (JDI, a partnership between Sony, Toshiba and Hitachi) display with a screen-to-body ratio of 95 percent and is expected to support an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core 2.45GHz Processor with Adreno 540 GPU. It is expected to come in two variants – 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage. It doesn’t have any expandable storage. The 6GB RAM is expected to be priced at 3,999 Yuan which is approximately Rs 38,423 while 8GB RAM is said to be priced at 4,999 Yuan which is approximately Rs 48,031.

Talking about the design part, the smartphone will come loaded with the ceramic back panel but will have a higher screen-to-body ratio of 95 percent, up from 91 percent in Mi Mix. Similar to its predecessor, the Mi Mix 2 will boast acoustic earphone technology, which basically eliminates the need for an earpiece.
The Mi Mix 2 will have two SIM card slots with Dual Standby and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with MIUI 9 on top of it. It is expected to be backed up by a 3,400 mAh battery. The smartphone is likely to sport a 12-megapixel dual camera setup on the rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset will also feature a USB Type-C port and Fingerprint sensor which is placed at the back of the device. For connectivity the smartphone offers 4G, WiFi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS / GLONASS and micro USB. It will come with Ambient Light Sensor, Gravity Sensor and Proximity Sensor.
