Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 might launch on September 12, pricing also tipped

The Mi Mix 2 is expected to come in two variants - 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage.

If the latest leak from China is to be believed, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 might be launched on September 12. The Mi Mix 2 will be designed by the same French designer Philippe Starck who had designed the predecessor Mi MIX.

As per earlier leaked specs, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will feature a 6-inch Japanese Display International (JDI, a partnership between Sony, Toshiba and Hitachi) display with a screen-to-body ratio of 95 percent and is expected to support an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core 2.45GHz with Adreno 540 GPU. It is expected to come in two variants – 6GB of with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage. It doesn’t have any expandable storage. The 6GB RAM is expected to be priced at 3,999 Yuan which is approximately Rs 38,423 while 8GB RAM is said to be priced at 4,999 Yuan which is approximately Rs 48,031.

Talking about the design part, the smartphone will come loaded with the ceramic back panel but will have a higher screen-to-body ratio of 95 percent, up from 91 percent in Mi Mix. Similar to its predecessor, the Mi Mix 2 will boast acoustic earphone technology, which basically eliminates the need for an earpiece.

The Mi Mix 2 will have two card slots with Dual Standby and runs on 7.1 Nougat operating system with MIUI 9 on top of it. It is expected to be backed up by a 3,400 mAh battery. The smartphone is likely to sport a 12-megapixel dual camera setup on the rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset will also feature a USB Type-C port and Fingerprint sensor which is placed at the back of the device. For connectivity the smartphone offers 4G, WiFi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2, / and micro USB. It will come with Ambient Light Sensor, Gravity Sensor and Proximity Sensor.
