Xiaomi has officially confirmed that it will be launching a new flagship smartphone globally. Dubbed as Xiaomi Mi 9T, the company has now officially confirmed that the phone will be launched on June 12.
The company shared this information on its official Twitter handle. The tweet reads, “Only 10 days left! The new #Mi9 member will launch on June 12th! Are you ready for more innovation for everyone from #Mi9T? #PopUpInStyle.” Previously, the company teased the design language of the upcoming smartphone. The teaser showed that the smartphone will feature a full-screen display and it will be the first smartphone from Xiaomi to be equipped with a pop-up selfie camera.

The smartphone was recently spotted on a European website revealing its variants and their respective price tag. As per the retailer site, the Mi 9T will come with a starting price of EUR 359 (approx. Rs 28,000) for the base 6GB+64GB version. Other models including the 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB configurations have also been listed for €379 (approx. Rs 29,500) and €499 (approx. Rs 38,800) respectively.
Multiple reports suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 9T will be none other than the global version of the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro, which was recently launched in China. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the new Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro will be launched in India in July this year.
The new comes from Xiaomi India Head Manu Jain’s official Twitter handle who said that both the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones will be launched in India. Jain also disclosed that the K20 series will be announced in six weeks’ time, meaning we can expect the phones to be available in the country by mid-July.
Briefing about key specifications, Redmi K20 Pro has a 6.39 inches Samsung’s AMOLED Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2280×1080 pixels, 91.9 per cent screen-to-body ratio and comes armed with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 7nm chipset, 4000mAh battery and 27W Fast charging support.
The Redmi K20 features a 6.39-inches Samsung’s AMOLED Full HD+ display and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 730 8nm processor, Adreno 618 GPU, 4000mAh battery and 18W fast charging.
