Xiaomi confirms two Android One Smartphones launching on July 24

The company has teased the launch of its new smartphones on its official Twitter handle. The post also comes with an image which shows the back panel of both the smartphones featuring vertically aligned dual rear cameras.

Xiaomi has today confirmed that the company will be launching two Android One Smartphones in its global launch event in Spain, Madrid on July 24. Just yesterday, Xiaomi teased that the successor of its Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One smartphone is on its way. And now we can safely say that two Android One Smartphones are set to make their official debut on the said date. The two phones in question are the Xiaomi Mi A2 and the Mi A2 Lite.

The company has teased the launch of its new smartphones on its official Twitter handle. The post also comes with an image which shows the back panel of both the smartphones featuring vertically aligned dual rear cameras. The tweet reads “We are giving you ALL not 1 but 2 smartphones on July 24th! Any guesses? #2isbetterthan1”. The tweet has now somewhat confirmed that along with Xiaomi Mi A2, the Mi A2 Lite will also be launched.

As far as specs are concerned, Xiaomi Mi A2 will feature a 5.99-inch Full display with 2160 × 1080 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the device features a dual-camera setup with a combination of 12-megapixel primary lens with f/1.75 along with a secondary 20-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.75 aperture. For the front, there is a 20-megapixel shooter with a f/1.8 aperture for selfies and video calling

The Xiaomi Mi A2 will be backed by a 3010 battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and it will run on Android 8.1 Oreo. The listing mentions that the Mi A2 is an Android One smartphone. On the connectivity front, it supports, LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, 5.0, dual-SIM, and USB port. The Mi A2 will measure 158.70 x 7.30 x 75.40mm and weigh in at 168 grams.

On the other hand, the Mi A2 Lite was listed today on a third-party retailer AliExpress with full specifications and pricing details. The listing reveals that the smartphone will come in two variants; 3GB RAM with 32GB storage for $189.99 (approx. Rs 12,988), while the 4GB RAM with 64GB variant is priced at $209.99 ( approx. Rs 14,355).

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite features a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixel along with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 along with Adreno 506 GPU.

The memory can be further expanded up to 256GB via card slot. Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite comes with dual rear cameras with a 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. For the front, it has a 5-megapixel camera. The phone comes loaded with a 4000mAh battery and it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, which is based on Google’s Android One programme.
