Xiaomi has scheduled its global launch event in Spain, Madrid on July 24, where it is expected to announce the much awaited Xiaomi Mi A2 smartphone. Though the company itself has not confirmed which smartphone it will be announcing, Mi A2 is higly expected to be announced in the event.
The company has made the announcement via Mi forum post. Xiaomi has also invited Mi fans to attend the launch event. Interested ones have to register on the company website for attending the event till July 18, 2018. The company will then select some of the fans who will be intimated via email to attend the unveiling.
Xiaomi Mi A2 is expected to available in black, blue, and gold colour options. The predecessor Mi A1 was launched in black, gold, rose gold, and red colour options. The smartphone is said to be available in 4GB RAM with 32GB/64GB/128GB and 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage variants. The Mi A1, on the other hand, was only available in 4GB with 64GB memory configuration.
In case you do not know, Xiaomi Mi A2 is the Android One variant of Mi 6X which was launched in April this year. Xiaomi held a global event last year to launch the Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One smartphone which is a rebranded version of the Xiaomi Mi 5X that it had launched a little earlier in China. But the Mi 6X smartphone will run on stock Android instead of their Proprietary MIUI OS used in the Mi 6X.
As per earlier leaks, Xiaomi Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 2160 × 1080 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the device features a dual-camera setup with a combination of 12-megapixel primary lens with f/1.75 Aperture along with a secondary 20-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.75 aperture. For the front, there is a 20-megapixel shooter with a f/1.8 aperture for selfies and video calling
The Xiaomi Mi A2 will be backed by a 3010 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and it will run on Android 8.1 Oreo. The listing mentions that the Mi A2 is an Android One smartphone. On the connectivity front, it supports, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-SIM, GPS and USB Type-C port. The Mi A2 will measure 158.70 x 7.30 x 75.40mm and weigh in at 168 grams.
