Xiaomi has scheduled its global launch event in Spain, Madrid on July 24 where it is expected to launch the Xiaomi Mi A2 smartphone. Now, ahead of the phone’s official launch, Xiaomi has confirmed the successor of its Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One smartphone is on its way. The company has teased the launch of its new smartphone on Twitter which will be Xiaomi Mi A2 saying the next-gen version is coming soon.
The post on Twitter carries an image with the caption “The Next Gen is Coming” and showing number “2”. Xiaomi’s tweet reads “Are you a big fan of #MiA1? You will love this…#Xiaomi #AndroidOne #2isbetterthan1”. The tweet has confirmed that the global launch of Xiaomi Mi A2 is happening soon and it will be an Android One phone running stock Android. The smartphone will be the successor of Mi A1 Android One phone launched last year.

Alongside the Mi A2, Xiaomi is also expected to launch another variant of Mi A2 called Mi A2 Lite. The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite was recently listed on a Polish retailer website. But with the teaser, the company only confirmed the existence of Mi A2 handset and not Mi A2 Lite. We have to wait for the official announcement by the company for the other variant.
As per earlier reports, Mi A2 4GB RAM with 32GB storage will be priced at PLN 1,299 which is approx. Rs 23,950, the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant is priced at PLN 1,399 which is approx. Rs 25,800 and the premium variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will cost you PLN 1,599 approx. Rs 29,490. On the other hand, the Mi A2 Lite is said to be priced at PLN 1049 which is approx. Rs 19,350 approx for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant.
As far as specs are concerned, Xiaomi Mi A2 will feature a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 2160 × 1080 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the device features a dual-camera setup with a combination of 12-megapixel primary lens with f/1.75 Aperture along with a secondary 20-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.75 aperture. For the front, there is a 20-megapixel shooter with a f/1.8 aperture for selfies and video calling
The Xiaomi Mi A2 will be backed by a 3010 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and it will run on Android 8.1 Oreo. The listing mentions that the Mi A2 is an Android One smartphone. On the connectivity front, it supports, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-SIM, GPS and USB Type-C port. The Mi A2 will measure 158.70 x 7.30 x 75.40mm and weigh in at 168 grams.
As per the specs leaked, Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite features a 5.84-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080) screen. It will be powered by Snapdragon 625 Chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It will also have expandable storage.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite will also come with dual rear cameras with a 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. For the front, it has a 5-megapixel camera. For the battery, it will have a 4000 mAh battery which is more than the Mi A2’s 3,000 mAh battery.
