Samsung today launched the Galaxy Tab S2 in India at Rs 39,400. It will be available for sale across all retail outlets from 2nd September onwards. As per Samsung, the comes pre-loaded with Galaxy gifts worth Rs 31000 under which, there are various apps which are otherwise paid but offered for free with Galaxy Tab S2 for a limited period.
The Galaxy Tab S2, as per Samsung, is the slimmest tablet of the world. It comes with 4G connectivity, WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi Direct, 32GB inbuilt memory and expandable storage of up to 128GB. The tablet has a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED Display with 2048×1536 pixels resolution. The tablet measures 169 x 237.3 x 5.6mm and weighs 392g with a 5870 mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 has a powerful Exynos octa core processor and huge 3 GB RAM. It also offers an 8 Megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 2.1 megapixel front camera. The tablet has fingerprint scanner as well along with Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Hall and RGB sensors.
Speaking at the launch, Manu Sharma, director mobile business, Samsung Electronics said, “The Galaxy Tab S2 is the World’s slimmest Tablet. The Galaxy Tab S2 combines features that enhance productivity and usability for a complete user experience powered by 4G data connectivity and speed. We believe the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the most complete personal visual device designed for consumers to carry and use anywhere.”

As per Samsung, the Galaxy Tab S2 offers advanced screen technology to display bright and natural content for a more comfortable visual experience. “Adaptive Display intelligently adjusts the display quality based on the environment and ambient lighting. Reading Mode modifies the screen’s brightness level to help users to read content for longer periods of time without straining their eyes,†it explained in a press release.
The tablet comes equipped with Microsoft Office Solutions and offers storage up to 100GB OneDrive Cloud Storage for two years for free. Consumers can also opt for accessories like Book Cover Keyboard that delivers the convenience of a standard PC keyboard with a built-in track pad for executing tasks on-the-go. Book cover keyboard and book cover are sold separately as accessories and will be available for sale soon at Samsung stores.
It has a Side Sync feature that helps consumers replicate and control a smartphone or a laptop via the tablet itself. All features of a smartphone can be accessed easily on the tablet, even if the smartphone is kept away. This avoids the need of using two devices and hence helps in advanced usability. In addition, the Galaxy Tab S2 offers Multitasking, allowing users to view and run two apps simultaneously. Also with Pop-Up Window, users can easily navigate between multiple apps at once.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be available in three colors, Gold, Black and White. During launch period, Tab S2 consumers will get 2GB of 4G data per month free, for two months on Airtel’s Network.
