Vodafone rolls out free WiFi services at IGI Delhi Airport

As per Vodafone, this WiFi zone at IGI Airport is spread across over 6,00,000 sq mts and is the largest in India.

Vodafone’s WiFi services are now available in the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. The service was being tested from last three months and is now finally available for passengers at IGI airport. As per Vodafone, this WiFi zone at IGI Airport is spread across over 6,00,000 sq mts and is the largest in India.

This complimentary WiFi services will be available for free for Vodafone and data users. Vodafone users recharging for 1GB or 2GB 3G/4G internet packs will get an additional 1GB free data at the IGI airport or any other zone powered by Vodafone. This complementary internet is also available on Vodafone U recharges of 1GB and above.

Speaking about the benefits of WiFi, Sandeep Kataria, Director – Commercial, Vodafone India, said, “With customer needs evolving from voice to data, WiFi is an effective technology to provide seamless connectivity to a large group of consumers in a defined space. Over one lakh inbound and outbound travellers use the IGI Airport each day. Our endeavour to offer Wi-Fi at the airport, will keep these travellers confidently connected on multiple devices, while they are transiting. Flying in and out of Delhi, will now be more fun for Vodafone customers who can also enjoy this free 1GB Wi-Fi seamlessly”

In order to avail this service, passengers at the IGI airport just need to click on the WiFi connect option in the My Vodafone Application for connectivity. If one is using laptops or tablets, he/she has to select ‘VodafoneWiFi’ from the list of available networks and login using OTP.

In addition, Vodafone is also planning to set up information booths, kiosks and promoters at both domestic and international terminals of IGI airport. Moreover, passengers can already enjoy a lot of entertainment options including video streaming, video conference calls and watch live as well as recorded sports.
